Is The Force Unleashed Headed to Theaters?

Source:  Los Angeles Times
The Los Angeles Times has posted a story this afternoon claiming that the new Star Wars videogame The Force Unleashed might soon find its way onto the big screen. Project leader on the game Haden Blackman is very hopeful and confident that his hard work might just become the next Star Wars theatrical film to see its way into theaters.

Blackman stated:
“Oh, that would be incredible. And it's not impossible. Never say never. George [Lucas] has looked to tell new 'Star Wars' stories through the games and with the entire Star Wars Expanded Universe, and then he has also shown a willingness to let the characters come into the films. Look at Aayla Secura, a creation in the [Dark Horse] comic books who became part of the theatrical films.”

The story sites George Lucas’ willingness to bring the new Cartoon Network series Star Wars: The Clone Wars to the big screen as an indication that Lucas isn’t against bringing a videogame to the Cineplex. Blackman not only wrote the video game, but he also wrote a graphic novel based on the new property, which could very well be used as a blueprint for the film.

If it does come to the big screen I'll be there.
Played the game, way to easy but very interesting. I just didn't like the ending, battling Vader was one thing but his master. That was a rip off of the sixth film.
Just have it live action for the film. I could see this as a new trilogy.

After I played through "The Force Unleashed" I couldn't help but feel the need & desired for a theatrical version of it on the big screen. The story line in it was so gripping plus it also fits in so perfectly with all the other previous movies it would be a shame to waiste what most likely would be an awesome adventure.

This would be cool and all, but I want to see Lucas get off his duff and get to work on the live-action tv show already!!! Lucasfilm has been focusing on the prequels and the in-between-films-and-games for far too long now! I want to see some post-Episode-VI stuff now, dammit! LOL :-)

Seriously Lucas, get back to work on the stuff us loyal Star Wars fans grew up on!

The "what if" version to the game...*SPIOLER* you know when Darth Vaders apprentice kills Darth Vader and then he become the new Darth Vader.* Yeah I have to agree with you on Zack directing it.

"more better?" Where the fuck did you go to school?

Zack snyder for director. Can u imagine his slo-mo lightsaber battles in that awesome visual style??

October 1st, 2008 4:09pm
They should just make it because the game was the most selling Star Wars game of all time so why not make it to the big screen. Btw the ending was not crap it was cool and the other ending was more better.
