Terminator Salvation Rumors Cleared Up

Source:  Total Film
There have been rumors flying all around the Internet about McG's upcoming film, Terminator Salvation, and he's laid some of them to rest. Total Film recently talked to McG who cleared up four rumors surrounding the film, the main one being Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's CGI appearance in the film.

Well, we'd bet our Terminator 2 action figure collection that we know the real reason. He was there to get motion captured for his all CGI debut as the T800.

"We're trying to synthesise a human character with a CGI character and that may or may not have something to do with the T800," McG told us with a smile.

The process isn't without its problems, though. McG isn't happy with ILM's work so far... "At the moment it's not good enough," he said. "And we're running out of time."

Click Here! to read about more rumors like the ending posted on the Internet that wasn't real, James Cameron's blessing on the film and how hesitant Christian Bale was to sign up for the film.

Terminator Salvation opens on May 22, 2009.

I didn't think it was mediocre, so I didn't have a problem with it heh Like I said, I loved it, you didn't, it's cool.

No hating i just didn't think it was all that to write a full paragraph praising a mediocre film.

I thought I was pretty calm compared to other times lol I've actually been working on that...whatever man. Your opinion is yours. I loved it, but I guess all movies have to have their haters.

Take it easy. No grudge against the Scotts. I actually like Ridley Scott movies except Body of Lies. I didn't like it just like i thought Man on Fire was junk. My opinion just like your opinion is you liked it. Denzel stooped too low by playing this role. The only good acting i saw was from Christopher Walken. The production was overwrought. New definition finding. Define "great revenge story" because this is not in any way great revenge story. I wouldn't even call it revenge. More like redemption, but anyway i've seen many revenge stories better than this. Scale from 1-10 i give it an 100 for revenge stories. Please don't stick up for the shaky camera work, man. Nothing to do with the characters. And besides you didn't make this shit, so calm the fuck down, please.

Wow, you're sounding like CelluloidDreams..."All remakes suck!" What a narrow minded comment. There's plenty of remakes that don't suck. I didn't even know MoF was a remake, and I don't give two shits if it is. The point is that it was a great movie. The camera angles were a bit weird, until someone pointed out to me that they were to add effect and give a sense of trauma, so you felt like the characters did in that situation. How can you say it was a bad movie? Great acting, and a great revenge story. Lots of action and violence...it was very moving and powerful(there's that word again that you seem to think I don't know about). You just don't know good movies...wait...Body of Lies was directed by Ridley Scott...MoF by Tony...do you have a grudge against the Scott bros or something? Whatever

No proving wrong. First of all Man on Fire was a REMAKE. All remakes suck. Only a $23 million opening and received bad reviews. The visuals were annoying and he did the same stupid fucking thing with Domino. Again, The Last Boy Scout, Scott's only good movie.

"Tony Scott hasn't made a good movie since the last boy scout, so no Scott"

"Man On Fire"-I just proved you wrong

Tony Scott hasn't made a good movie since the last boy scout, so no Scott. Bale is overrated i'd put viggo mortensen in for snake. Goldblum's too old i would use jake gyllenhall for Otacon. Good Raiden choice. But Revolver Ocelot character is met to be played by Gary Oldman. The rest of the cast looks good.

ChuckConnors its a nice dream, but just the cost of these actors/actresses is over xxx millions (lot of millions)

BTW Charlize Theron wouldn't play in a game adaptation...

wake up pal ... :D

With the release of this movie coming soon and seeing the latest pics of Bale, even though this is off topic but, I can't help but see this guy play Snake from Metal Gear. Tell me what you think so far of this cast if they made a Metla Gear movie.
Director: Tony Scott
Snake: Christian Bale
Otocon: Jeff Goldblum
Raiden: Mike Vogel
Revolver Ocelot: Sam Elliot
Older Big Boss: James Brolin
Meryl: Charlize Theron
Naomi:Monica Belluci
Vamp: Olivier Martinez
Psycho Mantis: Steve Buscemi
Anyways, I can go on, but seems like a good idea huh. Surprised they haven't turned this into a movie, prolly too long of a story but they can make a trilogy after all. With the Terminator series, it's a story that can go on and on, people prolly dont wanna see it go on but it can, especially since it involves time traveling. I feel that the Metal Story story can go on as well since it involves clones so we'll see. As for this Terminator movie, I hope it's good. It's hard to carry the torch from James Cameron on a story he created. The 3rd Terminator I don't even count, but the ending was pretty intense. Hopefully this one will bring that emotional aspect, action, and good acting that the series had before T3 as well as the mind blowing special affects but try to limit the CGI usage.

For me it shows that McG has a really great vision and he wants to bring to us a great Terminator movie, when he say that ILM doesn't good enough that means he wants best special effects, which the can provide and give from them 110% of their possiblites :-)))

YO...i'm getting excited for this movie...i'm noticing that Mcg isn't messing around...he's taking it seriously....have you guys seen the behind the scenes?? the machines look so real...i agree with Err and Mieko....the graphics with Hulk, Star Wars and T3 looked so fake.....whats the point if it looks fake....i would rather see an actual fake model like they did in t1 rather than that fake CGI stuff.....How do you go from the graphics in T2 to the one in T3...doesn't make sense.....Iron Man however did come thru....i could'nt believe the realism in their graphics......

I agree with err. I don't like choppy or weak effects. Many times, there is absolutely no reason for a movie to deliver visually to accommodate the story. ILM comes up short most of the time. Even in the effects of Star Wars I felt like half the time I was watching a cartoon. Transformers was quite the accomplishment. Iron Man pulled the wool over my eyes for a lot of the movie. The Incredible Hulk is a given, at least it was much better than the previous attempt. There were moments when big green looked authentic. But many times, for me, ILM comes up short. I would have been more excited to see Wingnut a part of the fx team instead. But as err stated, McG isn't settling for adequate, he's seeking perfection for his project as any artist should. Fans aren't stupid, we want to be satisfied.

November 21st, 2008 12:29pm
well at least he isn't settling for 'adequate' on the cgi like the makers of the new hulk did, or dozens of other cgi-filled movies.

hopefully they can get the fx up to par with movies like transformers and jurassic park. last thing i want when im watching this movie is to sit there picking out the cgi parts and ridiculing the unrealisticness of it.
