UPDATED! New G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra Preview Clip

Source:  MTV
2009 MTV Movie Awards has a brand new extended preview clip from G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra which aired tonight during the show. Take a look below at the clip below where you'll experience the Eiffel Tower crashing down.

Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, whose previous collaboration was the worldwide blockbuster Transformers, join forces with Spyglass Entertainment for another extraordinary action-adventure G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite G.I. JOE team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns).

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra opens in theaters nationwide on August 7 and stars Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Ray Park, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Said Taghmaoui, Marlon Wayans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Arnold Vosloo and Christopher Eccleston.

Did they use a discount FX company? How in the heck do you make a 50ft robot look more realistic that a man in a suit of armor? Is Bay that much better of an action director than Sommers? Prediction...Transformers $400 mill US GI Joe limps over $140 mill after all the bad word of mouth it is sure to generate.

Yeah idk...this still looks pretty awful to me. I really liked The Mummy and SOME parts of The Mummy Returns but other than that Sommers' work has been weak.

@ComradeHenson
LOL this totally looks like a Power Rangers movie

I can't whatch it since I'm in Canada, but by the comments people left, this is starting to look sketchy. Spider-Man had cheezy line in it and it turned out ok...still gonna wait and see on this one...

This just looks terrible. I think ComradeHenson nailed it with, "...glorified Power Rangers movie." 10-to-1 odds Hollywood starts talking re-boot or re-make 6 months after release.

diaigma - agreed. "nice shoes" is a bad indication of possible worse dialogue. besides - that's not the Baroness! she never would have said that. this movie looks less-and-less like "GI Joe" and more like a standard, run-of-the-mill action flick. bummer...

"Nice shoes?" ...

That confirms it. I'm waiting for DVD.

Messenger, I assume you mean "if you will", and by using that phrase, even if you had spelled it correctly, you've shown your character as a dumbass who wants to sound smart.

Duke screaming his dialogue instead of saying it makes this a glorified Power Rangers movie.

Hmm, interesting dialogue... they coulda put some type of suspenseful music during this scene lol but oh well.
