Official Synopsis for Captain America Revealed!

Source:  Production Weekly
Marvel has released an official synopsis for the story of The First Avenger: Captain America. The synopsis appeared in the latest issue of Production Weekly – which suggests that the synopsis is legitimate. That said, it still reads a bit like a stock Marvel description of the character, so it’s possible that the details of the film won’t exactly follow what the synopsis says.

Read the synopsis for yourself and decide what you think!
Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the ‘Super-Soldier Serum’ and bombarded by ‘vita-rays.’ Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and leader of the Avengers.

Whether this is exactly the synopsis or not, it’s still nice to know that it seems to be Marvel’s plan to keep the character true to his comic book roots. It’s always possible that someone would have had the terrible idea of “updating” the character so that Captain America was created to fight in the War on Terrorism.

We’ll find out more about The First Avenger: Captain America when it hits theatres on May 6, 2011.

Yeah, I do love cheap things, and war...but I don't like captain America, he's not patriotic enough for me.

Ever notice how they never rerun the old Captain America Movie?

Hmmm. I wonder if they are gonna put Wolverine in there. Didn't they fight in WWII together. Prolly not. That's too optimistic I think

captain america.. more like, how to make low level morons love your country and make war mongers out of poor people so the rich stay rich while the poor keep dying.. nothing special about the cap.. another great propaganda piece to make the average joe into a killing machine. While the general public views him as a hero.. In the eyes of United states you are always the heros, never the villains.. lets chant... USA.... USA..... USA!!!!!!! I love the USA. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP..

I wonder how much blood and gore there would be, since its during WWII. Like Saving Private Ryan, you saw a lot of Blood & Gore, and soilders entrails. Also during WWII, the Holocaust happen, and there were alot of dead women and children, alot of blood. There was also the conentration camp, alot of deaths, probably alot of blood.
The movie going to revolve around alot blood and gore. Maybe there'ed be enough blood and gore to be R-rated.

Oh shit thats fucking awesome. It should be a WWII flick. Like Cap walking through ruined streets in Europe with regular soldiers fighting the Nazis. Like Saving Private Ryan or something like that. That'd be the shit. A dark tone as well.

But it's hard to say who will play him.....

I think it'd be cool at the beginning of the film he grew up in the Great Depression, was a young weak man and got "juiced" and then fought Nazis as Captain America during the 40s at a good aged man, then be frozen afterward since the war was over, only to be unthawed to fight evil in present day, They could easily rip off Demolition Man by accident but oh well DM is awesome lol.
