The Perfect Man: Principal photography recently began on the Universal Pictures comedy "The Perfect Man," starring Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear. Mark Rosman ("A Cinderella Story") directs the screenplay by Gina Wendkos ("The Princess Diaries"), based on a screenplay by Heather Robinson & Michael McQuown. The film is produced by Marc Platt ("Legally Blonde"), Dawn Wolfrom ("Never Again") and Susan Duff ("A Cinderella Story"). The executive producer is Billy Higgins ("Honey").
Teenager Holly Hamilton (Duff) is tired of moving every time her single mom Jean (Locklear) has another personal meltdown involving yet another second-rate guy. To distract her mother from her latest bad choice, Holly conceives the perfect plan for the perfect man ... an imaginary secret admirer who will romance Jean and boost her shaky self-esteem. When the virtual relationship takes off, Holly finds herself having to produce the suitor, borrowing her friend's charming and handsome Uncle Ben (Chris Noth) as the face behind the e-mails, notes and gifts. Holly must resort to increasingly desperate measures to keep the ruse alive and protect her mom's newfound happiness ... almost missing the real perfect man when he does come along.
"The Perfect Man" also stars Chris Noth (television's Sex and the City), Mike O'Malley ("28 Days"), Ben Feldman ("When Do We Eat?") and Vanessa Lengies (television's "American Dreams"). The creative team includes director of photography John Leonetti ("The Scorpion King"); production designer Jasna Stefanovic ("Honey"); editor Cara Silverman ("A Cinderella Story"); and costume designer Marie-Sylvie Deveau ("Taking Lives").
Hilary Duff, one of Hollywood's fastest rising young stars, garnered worldwide recognition as the star of Disney Channel's hit series Lizzie McGuire, a character she subsequently brought to the big screen with the hit comedy "The Lizzie McGuire Movie." She most recently appeared on the big screen co-starring with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt in "Cheaper By the Dozen." Previously, she co-starred with Frankie Muniz in the film "Agent Cody Banks," and in the Disney Channel blockbuster "Cadet Kelly." Heather Locklear's wide-ranging career has been built on her memorable work in a variety of motion picture and television projects. Locklear recently starred opposite Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning in "Uptown Girls," and in "Looney Tunes: Back In Action," with Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman. Her other motion picture credits include starring roles in such features as the comedy "Money Talks," opposite Charlie Sheen. On television, she most recently showcased her comic flair on the hit comedy "Spin City," portraying feisty campaign manager Caitlin Moore. Previously, Locklear made an indelible mark on the national consciousness by scheming, manipulating and seducing the denizens of "Melrose Place" as Amanda Woodward. This fall she will star in the NBC drama "LAX."
