Will Superman: The Man of Steel Fly?

Superman: The Man of Steel, the sequel to Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, may be on hold - possibly indefinitely, according to a recent report in Variety. Between the WGA strike, and disappointing returns from Superman Returns, Warner Bros. is debating how best to proceed with the franchise.

According to their report, the screenwriters for Superman Returns, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, opted out of working Superman: The Man of Steel, and the WGA strike hit just as other writers were being solicited for script ideas.

Bryan Singer's representatives at William Morris say that "Superman: The Man of Steel is moving forward with Bryan Singer attached." But insiders at Warner Bros say that the film is not on any fast track, and that it is possible that Singer will not be attached as the director.

I would definitely appreciate a complete relaunch of the series. The movie would need an alien villain. I hope this happens, and I hope it gets good people attached to it, the character deserves that much.

superman returns was all about bringing back our man of steel into everyone's life. which is 15 to 20 years GAP!!. Brian did GREAT job in doing that. Please let him do the next one as well. i am sure he wil do a greater one. jst like the x men which was an intro and Xmen 2 which was a ACTION/

all the first one was lacking was a better story and a powerful villain like doomsday, it had stunning effects, but even so it takes more than that to entertain the new generation, more action please

Hey I loved Superman Returns, Brandon Routh was a great choice he was awesome as Clark. They should make the sequel better and have more action sequences to satisfy the public as long as they make it right I am on board make it and make it awesome I am sure they don't have to over spend to make a great movie, look at Transformers the budget was smaller and it turned out great come on Warner bros. and anyone involve with the project get inventive you guys are suppose to be good at it!

if its true that this won't be attached to returns then I still believe they should wait to create this, because too many people, still have a bad taste in their mouth from returns and they will automatically associate The Man of Steel with it and it would most likely kill box office turnouts.. i'm not saying cut it completely, just prolong it.. it will not only benefit them financially, but it will benefit the "Superman" personna in general

Superman Returns was alright with the graphics...I wouldn't mind seeing another one...but if doesn't happen, I won't cry about it...

yeah but phatlightning if you read all the articles this was a new start. this wasnt going to be a continuation. They said they wasnt going to attch this film to Superman Returns at all. I agree a sequel would be bad and thats why they arent doing it. The Man of Steel was to be a new start. That will suck if it gets cut.

I agree with Phatlightning's on this.

well the general idea is to make a good movie, and if all this means they are going to take a little more time making the film well that cant be a bad thing, and like others have said i will repeat............BRING ON THE DARK NIGHT!!!!
