Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale debuted in first for the weekend with their magic period drama, The Prestige with $14.8 million, however it lost some pace on Saturday to The Departed, according to Box Office Mojo. The two play rival magicians trying to find the one trick to top the other. Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson also star.

The Departed stayed strong at the number two spot with $13.6 million; after three weeks, the Boston-based crime drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, and Matt Damon has made $77.1 million.

The Clint Eastwood World War II drama, Flags of our Fathers debuted in third with $10.2 million. The film looks at the soldiers who fought in Iwo Jima, and that famous snapshot of the Americans setting the flag on the island.

Sony's first fully animated release, Open Season came in fourth with $8 million this weekend, for a four week total of $69.6 million. The voice talents include Debra Messing, Martin Lawrence, and Ashton Kutcher; Martin and Ashton lead a team of forest animals who fight back during hunting season.

Flicka came in fifth place with $7.7 million; the family film stars Tim McGraw, Alison Lohman, and Maria Bello as a ranch family. Alison plays a girl who takes a horse in a horse to prove she's mature enough to handle the farm.

After debuting in first place last week, The Grudge 2 dropped to sixth - a five spot drop, taking in $7.7 million. The horror/thriller sequel has made $31.3 in two weeks.

Robin Williams in Man of the Year found enough people to pull the lever; the comedy brought in $7 million over the weekend for a two week total of $22.5 million, however the flick slipped four spots from third to seventh. Robin plays a talk show host who runs for President of the United States, and wins.

Kirsten Dunst plays Marie Antoinette and Jason Schwartzman is Louis XVI in the modern period flick, written and directed by Sophia Coppola. The film came in eighth place with $5.3 million its opening weekend; it follows the early life of Marie and marriage to Louis XVI - before she got axed.

The prequel horror The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning came in ninth; that took in $3.8 million this weekend for a three week total of $35.9 million. Jordan Brewster and her friends get caught in the path of the beginning of the Leatherface saga.

The Marine rounds out the top ten, bringing in $3.7 million for the weekend; that makes it a two week $12.5 total. WWE Superstar John Cena stars in the film as an ex-Marine trying to find the people who kidnapped his wife.
