Tropic Thunder and Zack & Miri Make a Porno are two of the most anticipated comedies currently filming, and now you can take your first look at each of them. USA Today and Entertainment Weekly have posted the first pictures from these new films from directors Ben Stiller and Kevin Smith. Check out the images below.
In the action-comedy Tropic Thunder, Ben Stiller plays pampered action superstar Tugg Speedman, who is cast in the biggest, most expensive war movie ever produced. He sets out to Southeast Asia with a "Who's Who" of celebrity co-stars. They include Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.), an intense, three-time Oscar-winning actor; Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), star of the popular gross-out comedy franchise "The Fatties"; multi-platinum hiphop-star-turned-entrepreneur-turned-actor Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson); and first-timer Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel). Soon after the production begins the actors are thrown into a real-life situation and are forced to become the fighting unit they're portraying, in order to find a way out of the jungle in one piece.
A bawdy sex comedy with heart, Zack & Miri Make a Porno is about two friends who have managed to trudge into their 30s with a satisfying lack of accomplishment. But a 15-year high school reunion and dire rent problems spark the novel moneymaking idea of pulling together an amateur porn enterprise.
Tropic Thunder is set to hit theaters on August 15, while Zack & Miri Make a Porno is currently shooting in Pittsburgh and the film will be released sometime in 2009.
