It was an interesting weekend at the box office.

The Brave One made Warner Bros. happy by being the No. 1 movie with a three day take of $14 million. Holding strong at No. 2 was Lionsgate's Christian Bale/Russell Crowe western, 3:10 to Yuma. That film brought in another $9.2 million for a total take of $28.6 million thus far.

Superbad continued to provide Sony Pictures with a healthy revenue stream as it took in another $5.2 million in the No. 5 spot. This brings its total haul to $111 million. MGM and The Weinstein Company got one step closer to topping the all time gross for the Halloween franchise. The 2007 incarnation placed No. 6 and brought in another $5 million last weekend. It's current box office tally is now $51 million. The highest grossing film in the franchise is Halloween: H20 with $55 million.

Universal Studios can continue to keep the lights in with the No. 7 film The Bourne Ultimatum. It grossed another $4.2 million.
