Neil Marshall Set to Direct Hugh Jackman in Drive

Neil Marshall has signed on to direct the action thriller Drive, Universal's adaptation of the James Sallis novel. Hugh Jackman is attached to play a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway car driver in heists.

Drive marks Marshall's first big studio job for a non-genre picture, Variety reported.

In the book, the stuntman's already-exciting existence gets jolted when he discovers that a contract has been put out on his life. "This is something I haven't done before," Marshall said, "and I've wanted to bring a British sensibility to an L.A. shoot and a scorched classic film noir concept.

Production will begin this summer.

Isn't this like HOOPER(1978) with Burt Reynolds?

Sounds cool. Jackman's good for the role. If Statham was in it, it would just be like another transporter movie.

He'll be good for the role.

Statham would be better.

but Jackman would do awesome too.

after having watched The Descent and Doomsday, I'm officially Neil Marshall's fan.

He rocks heavy metal!

I admit Statham would be a good candidate for this role though I can still see Jackman playing this role...The concept of this movie sounds good and crew as well...If the production is starting this summer, that means the wolverine should wrap up in the months to come..

agreed PL. as for jackman i dont see him doing it thats just weird and unseen. the only getaway driver should be Statham...thats all he ever does in his films. but im sure this will be good nonetheless
