The Brothers Strause Reveal Their Plans for Alien Vs. Predator 3

20th Century Fox invited us to the Santa Monica, CA production offices of the Brothers Strause (Greg and Colin), the directors of the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem. They gave us a preview of the film and answered some great fan-questions about the movie and where the franchise is going.

In the conversation, they touched upon their desires for the sequel to Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem while trying not to give any of the plot away for the current film, which arrives in theatres on December 25th. The current film is situated in a city in the Midwestern part of the U.S. and by the end of the film, it becomes apparent that the feud between the two species no longer "needs" to take place on Earth and the brothers state that the next film would take the franchise back into space.

Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem will give glimpses of the Predator home planet, which you can see some of it HERE, as we're letting you see the first 5 minutes of the movie! The brothers indicate that the next film would probably not be centered on the Predator planet nor the Alien planet, and would primarily be a space-oriented film.

Of course, the fate of Aliens vs. Predator 3, rests entirely on the box-office success of Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem.

I think that perhaps making AVP Survivors meet AVPR survivors at the Yutani HQ... Perhaps even bring in the Predators survivors... That'd be cool. They've all seen the enemy in action (Some with more info on the Predators than the aliens obviously)...

I figure the Yutani corp wouldn't exactly let those who have all that information go.
Anyways.. This is what I want to see.

Mrs Y is actually Yutani. She is the owner of one of the corporations that form Weyland/Yutani which is the mega-corporation that is in the Alien and Aliens movies.

I do agree that not all humans would make good leaders, but the team leader from AVP is a good start. Mrs. Y is apparently a rep for another group who has had encounters with these bad boys. That needs to befollowed up on. The colonial marines angle would also figure in, because they made references to other encounters in their travels. If the crashed ship in Alien 1 is in fact another species that actually engineered them, sooner or later this will come into play. We should be able to see how both the predator and alien came to be such mortal enemies.
the storylines can go in many different directions. Let's not dismiss any of them-roy

While you do seem enthusiastic, I would definitely recommend reading the AVP books out there. They are pretty cool and will give you some good background information on both races. Even if you just read the Alien books.

Some Non-Spoiler info:
-Aliens do not have a 'homeworld' of their own. They are a bio-engineered weapon created by the specis you see in the first 'Alien' movie. The frozen corpse in the derelict spaceship that they find.
-There is no master Alien. There are only hive Queens. Their closest match are ants in terms of social structure and behavior.

I hope they keep making films with the predator in them. They are the coolest characters ever. They should go to their planets and show an all out war between the two races fuck humans they're not needed unless they get gud actors for them focus on giving lead parts to a predator and an alien the kings of both races. Definately do it for the fans, we deserve a decent film. we need more back history on both races especially the predator. Come on and please get it right. Get some director who knows wat he's doin. Get the predator director and alien director together to clash heads and make the best film of all time with the best characters dat were ever created in film history.

The problem is that the crashed ship in 'Alien' was an entirely separate species. They were the ones who actually created the aliens as their own weapon. It would be very hard to bring them into the picture without compromising all the other storylines. I think that AVP should keep a separate story flow as the regular Alien series (if that ever comes back).
It would be cool if the third movie shows the birth of the Colonial Marines as a mercenary group taken on from Yutani (which turns into Weyland/Yutani) which is obviously a defense contractor for the US Military. This would keep the storyline intact with the regular Alien series as they did know about the Aliens from the get go and have been obsessively hunting them ever since. The reason I would like a Colonial Marine'esque unit to come into the picture is I don't know how many more times they can run the 'poor humans stuck in the middle' plot line. I would also like to see the girl from the first movie brought back to take on a Ripley type roll in the series and for her to go a little more hard a@@ from experience gained from the first one. Ripley was always a tough cookie but she still was a non-warrior. I think that they can safely turn the girl from the first movie into a true lead warrior and not make it seem forced. Without giving too much away from AVPR, I don't think the ones from this movie could take a star role in the next one. They could be good back-ups or second stringers but none of them really captured me as leaders.
What I would really like to see for the next movie would be a hive assault on a planet that has already been taken over by the aliens.
Hopefully this will spark interest in the main Alien storyline because I would love to see an Earth War trilogy.

I have just seen this film, and think it was right on track. the aliens don't care if the host is 5 or 105, male or female, or anything else. they must have thought they hit the motherlode when they came into town. the predator figured an easy cleanup, until he got here. since the first alien movie discoverd the crashed ship with the warning beacon, it is obvious humans were looking for it, since the android knew about it. the next installment should at least have two story lines, one dealing with the survivors of these encounters, and one dealing with how the crashed ship got to where it is. let's bring this full circle before we go off on another tangent. thanks, roy

I agree with you, 2MovieGuys. It should be made for the fans, and the fans only (like me). Not because of money! And I'm glad it's going into space. Am I the only one here who as played ALL the AVP games, which are always beyond earth? I hope not. But going into space would leave room for so many ideas, like possibly using ideas from the game! I don't know about you guys, but this planet that we live on gets pretty boring sometimes...
So if it takes "money" to make AVP 3, then I'll see AVPR 30 f***in' times, dude! Bring on the sequels!!!

"Aliens vs. Predator 3" should be made for the fans, not because of how much it will make!!!

This is gonna kick some serious ass Christmas Day!! Thank the movie gods that this "AVP" will be rated "R" & not "PG-13"!!!
& How are they not giving to much away??
The plot is all over the place which is:
When the Predator scout ship from the first film crash lands in a Colorado town, the Aliens on board escape and infect the town.
After that all that, all hell breaks loose since
all the people who live in the Colorado town are helplessly caught in the middle of the ultimate face-off between the two space monsters, then more shit will hit the fan when the military shows up!!
As the tag line states:
This Christmas there will be no peace on Earth.
I will be the 1st in line Christmas Day!!
