James Vanderbilt Tapped to Write Spider-Man 4

Sony isn't letting a possible writer's strike stop their plans for Spider-Man 4. According to Entertainment Weekly, James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Darkness Falls) has been hired to write the script for the next film starring the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler.

Vanderbilt will be prevented from working on the script during the strike, but that doesn't mean he would be unable to think about the script during that time.

It is currently unknown what involvement Sam Raimi, who directed the first three Spider-Man films, will have with Spider-Man 4. Similarly, it is unclear whether Toby Maguire or Kirsten Dunst would be willing to return for the sequel.

Sony plans to release Spider-Man 4 in 2009.

While I agree with GrimPadre on Carnage, I also think that Mysterio should enter into this series just because he is an interesting character, and my favorite Spiderman villain.

If "Spider-Man 4" is materializing any time soon, then I have only one word- Carnage! If any one(or thing) can bring the balls back to the franchise, it's that crazy sonofabitch! Carnage should make up for the over all lameness of Venom and then some.

They can't be serious!!! they are taking an aweasome comic book hero, an idol to adoring children everywhere and making him out to a complete an utter wuss. what kind of example are they setting for the kids. But at this point i don't care because they've already ruined venom and the question is...Could it get any worse? I do belive the general consenus is YES!!!! Please, stop now while spidy has a shred of dignity left.

I think they need a fourth but they need to get someone who will right this one good and not rush through it. One enemy at a time. You did it in the first two films and they worked marvelously. If it was even just Harry and Sandman or harry and Venom it would have worked but having all three was way too much. I think they need to save the series. I am always about saving the series. When Batman Begins was put into the works alot of people were worried it was going to bomb just like the batman & Robin and then look where it left us...AMAZED AND WANTING MORE!!! I think they could pull of a fourth, as long as they dont rush it and get the right enemies in there.

ok, spiderman 3 rompio recors de taquilla, pero tambien rompio la ilusion de muchos fans al esperar tanto por ver un verdadero villano como Venom y tratarlo como basura, solo esperemos que Reimi no heche a perder Spiderman4

When Parker went Emo I just laughed. I couldnt believe they did that. Then just when I thought it couldnt get any worse he did a dance and sang a song. Wow. They went from one of the best superhero movies ever to complete poo. Then the bad guys were in too great a number and werent able to really shine as true bad guys. Venom was so hyped up for an ultimate let down. I wanted so much to like this movie but I just cant.
