In addition to serving as a comprehensive promotional site dedicated to the magical world of Harry Potter, the newly unveiled harrypotter.com features exclusive interactive content and news about the third installment of the blockbuster Harry Potter film series.
An immersive introduction powered by an original song from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban welcomes visitors to the site, where the interactive Marauder’s Map – a key element in the film – serves as the primary navigation tool for the content-rich environment. All-new promotional features include themed content based on the Hogwarts classes showcased in the movie, including Care of Magical Creatures, in which users can experiment with the Magical Creature Maker, and Defense Against the Dark Arts, where visitors can test their memory – a skill necessary for casting the Patronus Charm successfully.
Harrypotter.com also features a game inspired by the magical half-horse, half-eagle creature known as the Hippogriff, and a variety of Harry Potter-themed downloads are available in the new Leaky Cauldron section.
“This exceptional interactive environment captures the magic and spirit of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and provides a variety of imaginative opportunities for visitors to enrich their overall experience of the world of Harry Potter,” said Don Buckley, Senior Vice President, Interactive Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The site will be constantly updated with news and other Potter-inspired destinations, including revamped Harry Potter message boards; an all-new Games section; a redesigned Wizard’s Shop, where visitors can browse through official licensed products available for purchase; and the Daily Prophet, the official source of Harry Potter movie news.
Additionally, Warner Bros. Pictures will roll out international versions of the harrypotter.com website in over 30 countries, localized with region-specific news.
