300 Goes to TNT

For a measly sum of $17 million, cable channel TNT was able to buy the rights to Warner Brothers 300. According to Variety, TNT agreed to a three-year licensing deal, as opposed to the usual four or five year deal.

TNT will be able to funnel the film to its video-on-demand platform. They will also allow Warner Brothers to sell 300 to another pay cable or network channel after the first year of the deal is up.

The film will air in September of 2009, a few months after 300 ends its run on HBO.

300 was released March 9th, 2007 and stars Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Dominic West, David Wenham, Vincent Regan, Michael Fassbender, Tom Wisdom, Andrew Pleavin. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.
