Alec Baldwin reveals 30 Rock will end after Season 6
"I will tell you one thing. And that is next year is our last year of the show. Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina (Fey) is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great."
30 Rock was given an early renewal for Season 6 in November, although there hasn't been any indication that it would be the final season until now. We reported last month that NBC also renewed Thursday night comedy companions Community, Parks and Recreation, and The Office. It seems the 2011-2012 season may be the last with this entire lineup intact, especially with Steve Carell leaving The Office at the end of this current season.
NBC and Tina Fey's representatives refused to comment on the story. 30 Rock's Season 5 finale will air on Thursday, May 5 at 10 PM ET on NBC.

I am surprised this show lasted as long as it did. Its a brilliant show but just wasnt pulling in the audience that it could have. The fact the NBC stood by this brilliant comedy series says a lot about them. I always say, better to end it while the getting is good as apposed to running it in to the dirt and disapointeing fans.
I have loved this show since its first season so i will miss it but it had a good run and we got some great comedy from some of the greatest comedy actors around.
