The original film's writer, Steve Niles has returned to write the sequel, alongside Ben Katei. Here's a brief synopsis from the site:
In the sequel to the bone-chilling 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, Stella seeks revenge on the blood-thirsty vampires that destroyed her sleepy Alaskan town. Could Melissa George return? Only time will tell...
We'll surely keep you posted on any and all updates surrounding this sequel as soon as more information comes in.
30 Days of Night was released October 19th, 2007 and stars Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, Danny Huston, Ben Foster, Mark Boone Junior, Mark Rendall, Amber Sainsbury, Manu Bennett. The film is directed by David Slade.

Wow... had no f*cking idea this was based on a comic book. Never looked it up. hmmm... NOW it makes sense.... because the ONLY way she would go back to hunt vampires is if it was based on a comic book. Because no f*cking way and normal person would go back to that vampire infested town haha.

I'm actually glad to hear there going to be a sequel. They already have two prequels which are name 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails and 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust both of which are TV series.

Um.... it became daylight at the end? You're telling me she would go BACK to that town for the next 30 days of night? I don't think so. She was scared sh*tless of those vampires.... everyone was. Why would she go back? Revenge? Yea right.
Maybe a sequel with different actors and in a different town that has 30 days of night as well. "Stella seeks revenge".. hahaha, that's funny.

i hope they don't f*ck this up. i rate the first very highly. i don't think it needs a sequal, but i don't give a toss so long as it is as good as the first. anything less and it will be a complete failure!

Yeah its some what interesting, but only if Melissa returns. By the way, I did believe that there was potential for a sequel once all those damn vampires just walked away. I wasnt happy with the ending and hopefully a sequel does the trick.
