I will totally check this out in the fall because L.J. Smith has a great reputation as a writer of great teen novels and the show looks good. But I'm kinda with Oli...and CMR-BOI...this whole vamp thing is getting a little over-played. With hits like Buffy and Twilight and now True Blood...its getting out of hand. We also get that whole fantasy element in Supernatural and on Sci-fi...
Get a new theme people!! Hollywood has a such a bad habit about stuff like that. I mean, they find something that rocks and then run with it until every one is so sick of it that we start to fork our eyeballs. I mean, really?? They do the same thing with sequels...
I just wish they'd find something a little more original thank you.

This show looks awesome, thought the names are different, from Salvatore to Whitmore. I have read these books before Twilight. These books are just as great as the Twilight Saga. Plus Stefan was the first Veggie Vampire!!!!! So no comparing it to Twilight

This looks awesome. I loved the books. If you haven't read them, check them out. It's like "Twilight" except it's a lot less gushy, and the vampires don't sparkle. The only thing I have an issue with, is the character's hair, I know, weird. But Elena is supposed to have BLONDE hair, and Stefan should be wavy haired, whereas Damon should have the short, cropped hair. Another thing, Stefan and Damon are Italian... Where's the accents? Unless they decided to go with having the accents dropped after centuries of life... Either way, I'm game for this. The books were great, and the show looks awesome, too. I just don't want to have to wait till this fall. :(
