Err
just rent "let the right one in" from netflix or wherever you rent movies and see for yourself.
i recommend not using the english dub though, and just reading the subtitles because the dubbing is awful in that one.

lol, well i guyess we will have to wait and see Delgren, usually when a new version comes out re-releases are in order, like when Friday the 13th remake came out, all the fridays were re-released with more extras and different covers.
Good point made on 'The Thing' scenario, but hey look at 'The Day The Earth Stood Still'
The production studio i'm gonna take a wild shooting guess and say its a reference to Hammer House of Horrors, which was the studio that did the Christopher Lee Dracula movies and countless more.
But that is just me speculating.

I don't see them giving it any type of wide release before the original, as much as you think it will help marketing, it wont. Once most people spend money on one movie they are less prone to go spend money on something that is possibly the same but americanized. Only if they are super hardcore movie fans. The movie had a pretty alright dvd release to begin with, as it was part of Magnet's six shooter film series, so I don't know how much more they can do for it.
The reason The Thing was great was because there was some thirty years between it and they went more towards the book than the movie. Which is what Reeves is intending to do, make in more inspired by the book. Hey maybe this movie will be great, but I don't give a sh*t, I don't want them to remake it. It's f*cking lame, and what this guy should do is write something original or find an original property that hasn't been tapped yet. Instead he's taking something that has already gained cult status within a short period of time and trying to use that to his benefit. It's f*cking lazy. They did the same thing with The Ring and The Grudge, and now they're doing it to this and Old Boy.
I doubt he's going to be able to catch the human element between the two characters VIS. It's probably gonna end up like some dumb ass preteen drama.
By the way these posters look f*cking dumb. And what kind of name is Hammer for a company, its sounds like a porno production company. Got this infuriates me so much, everything about it. I think I'm going to start a boycott against this movie on the internet.

Vis, majority of the time, the original is always better, as i stated there are very few better than the original.
One of the best remakes is 'The Thing' and that is the automatic one that comes to my mind, when i think of this and 'Scarface'
And also the use of the imagination is much more scarier than seeing what is happening on screen, because the imagination is technically one of our greatest tools. Also everyone paints a different picture.
Question
Would the Ear-Cutting Scene in Reservoir Dogs be as effective as it is if you saw the ear being cut or not?
Also note this, Wes Craven & Rick Baker, walked out of that sequence in Reservoir Dogs, because it was realistic in their eyes and that is what scared them.
Also they will definately release the original just before the release of the remake, this would be to forward the promotion of the remake, it always happens

"The original is way better."
Ummm...was I in a coma for a year?...because I don't remember the remake being released yet.
I mean, the original will most likely be better, but you're acting like you've seen the remake already and it was sh*t. So are a lot of other people.
Just because the original is better doesn't mean the remake is sh*t. I'm not holding my breath, but...just saying. If Reeves follows at least some of what I stated in my previous comment, then it could prove to be a good movie. Probably not excellent, but not "F*CK YOU, MATT REEVES" bad.

"Let Me In" doesn't necessarily have to equal the wolf concept, it could be more emotional. "Just let me know how you feel" kind of thing, though I doubt Reeves will nail those emotional interactions like the original did.
The original isn't always better, it's just that people overlook the good remakes because when they hear news of a movie they like getting remade, they instantly go into "this will suck" mode...although, I'm at fault, too. I'm not at all in support of this movie. However, this is a little different. It's a foreign film that was made just last year. It hasn't had a chance to be seen by the majority of U.S. everyday people, and I think they should at least release the original in the U.S.(or promote the DVD while promoting this remake) before releasing the movie.
At least they give credit to the original in the posters, but that's not enough. If Reeves stays away from the "shot for shot" remake style and creates something faithful yet original, then it might turn out to be a good movie. His main obstacle is the interaction between the girl and boy, and he needs to focus on developing that relationship with as much integrity as possible. Also, Let The Right One In shirked away from on screen violence. Reeves can't worry about the "average joes" who would rather see hardcore blood and guts flying at their faces than use their own imaginations. The movie is about the dynamic between the boy and girl, and he needs to worry about that before worrying about how much violence is on screen.

I know your not trying to defend I'm not saying that either. But the title still doesn't work even in the big bad wolf respect. The movie has nothing to do with the some force fo evil trying to force it's way in and take the character over, it's about the trust these two vulnarable characters allow each other and the bond it creates.

Well the original is always better, i think every movie goers knows that golden rule.
There are very few remakes that are better than the original.
Also it will arise curiousity in people that want to compare the remake to the original

Not trying to defend the movie, but the title adaptation KINDA makes sense, I mean, with the whole big bad wolf parallel.

Remember these are only concept posters as well they might scrap all that sh*t later on. Oh and the name is f*cking horrible if I might add that in. Let Me In? WTF is that sh*t, it doesn't even make sense when you look at the scope of the movie's story.

Yeah the only problem J.A. is how many people are going to bother to watch the original, when they can just wait and see this, as well as how many people hate Cloverfield and are going to lump it together giving it a bad name.

I like the 1st and the 3rd poster, but i agree, with others about giving more independent films better release in the US and UK.
The original was perfect in every way, soa remake is actually not even nessceray.
But the thing i have to give credit to Matt Reeves for is that he states that the film is a 'Remake of the Award Winning Original 'Let The Right One In.'
So that kind of does work as a distribuitional tactic for the original.
I just one complication why isn't that notice on the 3rd poster?

Matt Reeves is a F*ggot! I agree Comrade, why can't they just give independent fims better distrobution in the US if they're so good. No, some greedy f*ck thinks he can make alot more if he puts his name on it, so they buy the rights and remake it.

cause the director was well known, I don't think this director was that well known , i loved cloverfield so i'm sure matt reeves will give us something worthwhile

F*ck this concept. Because it's foreign they don't have to wait to remake it? Or there suddenly has to be an American version? F*ck that sh*t, if they cared about the original, they would have just sponsored an American release like Tarantino does.
You didn't see some c*cksucker trying to do an english language cut of Pan's Labyrinth, did you?
