Starring Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy and Connie Britton, the horror will come to theaters April 30.
"A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another...but when they sleep, there is no escape."
The original Nightmare was written and directed by Wes Craven and released in 198 and starred the now legendary original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund.
A Nightmare on Elm Street was released April 30th, 2010 and stars Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, Connie Britton. The film is directed by Samuel Bayer.

@Fallen, I sincerely Apologize, What an unbeleivable mistake I man putting a "The" in front of the title!!!!
His mask was on for like the whole movie. Without facial expression, there is not much to base actig ability on. Again, I do think he is an excellent actor, but to base it on his performance in "Watchmen" is kind of silly. Try using another movie as an example, like aforementioned "little Children" (i didn't capitalize the L, just to see if you want to correct me on that too).

As for the flick, it looks to be coming along nicely, the makeup is looking good in the poster, and it seems to be sticking to the original while branching off to a few sweet original spots we haven't yet seen, so I give this a possible yes to a full yes in my opinion.

@wileecoyote, first off its not "The Watchmen", its "Watchmen." Second, he deserved all the praise he got, for his acting abilities, both vocal (look at Andy Serkis and his portrayal of Gollum) and emotional, and at times psychological. He portrayed that character to his very best with and without his mask.

I love the fact "Shutter Island's" Paramount head executive Brad Grey blamed the recent economic downturn as the main decision behind the delayed release date....LOL ....but then Hollywood can come up with money $$ to "REMAKE" a "Cult" classic horror film ....I guess Wes Craven had to pay the rent to seel out his idea ...
No interest in a film I already saw in theaters in 1984.. and remember this is the film that launched Johnny Depp career .... I wonder Heather Langenkamp thinks of this remake!!!
