The first Saw is clearly a hollow mock-up of Fincher's Se7en. Only Saw had some of the worst acting I've seen in awhile. The second one continued on that tradition when they settled for Donnie Wahlberg. The dialogue is laughable, the editing is frantic and gives me a headache. Anyone who thinks Saw is/was original clearly needs to watch more films.

I have an extreme hatred for the Saw films. How can anyone be entertained by gore? It's gore for gore's sake with the plot just there to take us to the next gory scene. At least the writer/director is taking his career to new heights with such great films like Silence and Death Sentence, right? He clearly has talent, right?

I just saw the sneak preview of "The Kingdom" and it was awesome! Great story, great action, great acting, one of the best this year by far. Go see this movie, you wont be disappointed. I want to see it again.

I gotta go with Mushy on my feelings with today's cinema. Gone is the scope of excellent photography and cinematic artwork. If we can't go on location, we just CGI in the look. Mind you, there were matte paintings, but there is something organic about man-made work as opposed to cold- computer work. Not all of it is bad, but it's over used! Even today's horror films rely on CGI, what happened to Dick Smith, Rob Bottin, Rick Baker or Tom Savini??? The SAW films are still interesting, don't get me wrong, I will go see IV without hesitation... but now we're remaking films 20 years old and stealing from the Japanese!!! HEY, WHO SAW THAT COMING !?! Where do we go from here???

When they made the first one it was great. Totally unexpected. Then they have this fake Bousman come on board and it's like the Marquis De Sade or something! (For those of you who don't know who that is go to Wikipedia)

It is just stilly. All these elaborate traps... if Jigsaw is sick where does he get the money for all this stuff? How does he pay the overhead on the warehouse?

Don't say that it's Linda from Becker who is bankrolling things... that character couldn't bankroll a cigarette lighter.

These movies are bad music videos that should only be 3 minutes in length.

Check out Fangoria and find out how George Romero feels about SAW, Bousman and everybody else who are more concerned with this style of substance horror flicks:

"SAW franchise director Darren Lynn Bousman doesn't go unscathed either, as Romero questions, "Who's going to remember SAW III in 20 years? Forget about it. Here's the thing, man: I think that most filmmakers today, they shoot music videos. They shot Faith Hill's last music video, and they think they're hot shit. Do they know how to handle it [making feature films?] No, they don't. Put 'em at an editing table, and they're clueless."

Thank you for your time,

Mash
