24 Movie Arrives in 2012

Kiefer Sutherland was a guest on the ABC morning talk show The View earlier today, where he said the 24 movie will hit theaters in the summer of 2012. Click on the video player below for Kiefer Sutherland's segment on The View, where he appears with Jim Gaffigan, his co-star in the current Broadway play, The Championship Season. The 24 news comes at the 2:22 mark.

For those of you who don't want to wade through the video, all Kiefer Sutherland had to say was this.

"It will come out in the summer of 2012."

Last month, Kiefer Sutherland said 24 will start shooting in January. That report also indicated Tony Scott is interested in directing 24, although it isn't known if he has officially signed on yet.

24 is in development .

To all the haters on this board, No one really cares whether you like 24 or not. The rest of us know a good show when we see one & are very excited about this movie so nothing you say here or anywhere else is gonna change they way we all feel about it. So you might as well go somewhere else if you want to be a dick (I mean hater).

What's so funny is how many people act so suave by talking like nobody really likes 24... Yesterday twitter announced that the death of Osama Bin Laden was the single most tweeted event in its history. And what makes it sweeter they said is that the single most tweeted report of how he died was at the hands of JACK BAUER... I'd say somebody gets it.

Not gonna read anything that long unless you're my guy Ejk1. Sorry. I'll never see this film. Don't worry, you'll notice Kiefer going through the motions thinking about that paycheck probably a little more than halfway through the film.

    "Blah"?

    LOL, weak.

The ending of season one was so far out in uncharted territory for TV the shows writers had to convince Fox that it could work and it did. After 24 caught on I started to see a shift in TV writing and you know why that shift happened" It's because 24 was the next big thing and companies and such are looking to copy the next big thing. I've been in the industry long enough to know that the men with wallets think in that exact fashion.

As for them changing the story because of the bitching I find it funny there have been more white antagonists as a whole than any other group on the show. And a strong middle eastern characters was also portrayed in season 3 where boy defies his father's wishes because he knew in his heart that what was going on was wrong. Which judging by your last comment you've never really watched the show because if you have you would have know that.

But honestly, I'm done with this conversation, I know there are plenty of Americans out there that aren't as pin headed as you make them out to be. People know it's a show and nothing more. You drag out the few who are dumb enough to think torture is right etc. just to complain about a T.V. show, there are bigger fights out there.

@messenger Blah. I'm glad enough bitching was done about the show that in the final season they decided to make it less about being scared of middle eastern people.

Judging by your second line you don't watch much TV.

And of course you go for the most negative things you can think of, which doesn't surprise me.

I was talking about its writing style, pushing boundaries, having that shock value, note having a show always end on a happy note.

And if you ever watched the show you would see that any torture done by Jack Bauer altered his character and made him flawed. Even in one season he was put on trail for it. The show always toyed with issues like that never really taking a side.

It's a show, get over it. I watched the show for all 8 season and not once has it altered MY OWN view on the world in any negative way.

And I have NEVER heard anyone say "oh watch out for that guy, he looks like one of those bad guys on 24." Please, they've had terrorists from china up to America's president. They don't just pick on middle eastern people. And you wanna hear the real kicker, I have a friend who is from Pakistan and he absolutely loves the show. And if you ever asked him about how they portray middle eastern people on the show, he would tell it's just a show mimicking real world events at that time.

And I'm curious, did you ever watch the show? Or are you going off other peoples views? They not only had terrorists of middle eastern origin but they had middle eastern characters that were strong and good people that were presidents and first ladies. Hell, even in the last season a middle eastern woman of power ended up being the strongest, the most moral person on the show. But no one ever talks about the positive characters, oh no. They wanna bitch and moan about the bad stuff to fuel their agenda. If a show like this makes you upset, you need to get a helmet, cause reality hits harder than fiction.

@messenger What trend would this be? You mean the trend where the Fox News witch Laura Ingraham referenced this show as the reason why we should torture people? That psychotic trend?

Or how about the reinforcement of the brown people are bad theory? Gotta love that trend.

Or how about reinvigorating and instituting a state of fear which most americans were desperately trying to shed after 9-11?

    These trends?

The show in it's prime was an incredible show. If you don't like it, that's fine but it was most certainly a trend setter.
