I agree with Zany on Adapted. Up In The Air was undoubtedly the most clever script of the year.

Weak sauce. Where's The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, District 9, and Up?!

I suppose I'd select A Serious Man for Original with (500) Days of Summer on its coattails. Up in the Air should win Adaption, no contest, but with the lacking selection of films, I kind of question the Guild's motives.

  3. The Narrator: The Better Man

The Road definitely should have got in for adaptions. That pisses me off. My vote for "their" picks are (500) Days of Summer, or the Hangover. Nothing really original here.

No love for the screenplays for The Road, Men who stare at goats, and District 9? What the hump is Avatar doing there?

I agree Josh. Tarantino is probably the most deserving for the Original Screenplay category. Avatar is not shocking even though it shouldn't be anywhere near it. But The Hangover? Really?

Really, guys? No Inglourious Basterds nomination for BOS, but Avatar and The Hangover are nominated? Shameful.
