Horror auteur Rob Zombie has attempted to remake a VERY classic and beloved horror film. That fact alone is frightful to some and exciting to others. It's time to weigh in horror fans...

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF ROB ZOMBIE'S

I know its been a while since the last comment..but i gotta say...everyone saying bad stuff about the movie aren't true halloween fans....Zombie added everything that was missing to the original..the original was good, but zombie's was better...the reason that "LITTLE MICHAEL" was innocent at one moment and then crazy another was his condition...he was a psycho...he didn't know what he was doing half the time...find out what a psycho is before you clown this movie...in the orignal michael was portrayed as a psycho...they just didn't go deep into his story...there's more to michael than just him puttin on a mask..i always thought that watching all the films..and i am a film of all of them except ressurection and h20...

IT WASNT THAT BAD! NOW, HALLOWEEN SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN TOUCHED, I AGREE. BUT IT WAS A WORTHY EFFORT. ZOMBIE USED THE MUSIC AND A LOT OF CARPENTER'S CAMERA WORK TO MAKE A MODERN HOMAGE TO THE CLASSIC. THE SPRINKLES OF ZOMIBIE'S PAST FILMS DO PRESENT THEMSELVES IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE MOVIE, ONCE 15 YEARS LATER COMES AROUND IT'S ALL CARPENTER...SO TO SPEAK. CARPENTER LOVE HITCHCOCK AND THE LESS IS MORE APPROACH IN THE 78 VERSION PROVES THAT. MUCH LIKE JAWS THE FACT THAT THE SHAPE IS SHOWN AT SHOULDER VIEW MAKES IT A LITTLE MORE CHILLING. AS FAR AST THE ACTING IS CONCERNED...NANCY LOOMIS AND P.J. SOLES WERE'NT EXACTLY OSCAR WINNERS...IT'S HORROR! IT'S VERY RARE THAT HORROR FILMS HAVE GREAT ACTING. MALCOM MCDOWELL WAS OK,NO DONALD PLEASENCE BUT OK. IT WAS STRANGE TO SEE LITTLE JAIME LLOYD FROM HALLOWEEN 4 AND 5 TOPLESS...FELT LIKE SUCH A PERV. ANYWAY, WAS'NT THE BEST IN THE WORLD BUT WAS WAY BETTER THAN HALLOWEEN 4, 5, 6, AND RESURECTION. ZOMBIE...GOOD TRY...NO SEQUELS!

Halloween is, objectively speaking and without thinking about the original, a crummy film. As a remake of the Carpenter movie it's a heinous abortion.

John Carpenter can rest easy; any self-respecting horror fan will forget this film even exists by the time the real Halloween rolls around this year.

Halloween is about graphic brutality and absolutely nothing more.

RAZZIE FOR WORST ACTRESS: Scout-Taylor Compton. Scout-Taylor Compton should have her SAG card taken away, & NEVER BE allowed to make another movie! EVER! SAME for Danielle Harris, WORST SUPPORTING ACTRESS! EVEN IF YOU CAN CALL "THAT" ACTING!?!?!

It was horrible. I was very amped for this one and it was terrible. Watching a dof puke is more enjoyable. At least that is able to scare and churn my stomach a little bit. It was very watered down. And the little Michael Meyers was just weird. then he acts like he wont hurt people he likes in the storie line then kills that janitor who took care of him. Come on. This movie was gay!

I agree that this movie is extremely bad. Halloween and The Exercise are the only ones that I became a fan of. This Halloween does look like the Devils Rejects or 1000 Corps. It has nothing scary to it, just allot of blood and guts. With all the hype, I am extremely disappointed with Zombie and how this movie came out. Good thing I saw an illegal copy instead of going to theaters and wasting my money.

Hopefully "Hatchet" will better?!?! Thank-God it's not another Re-Make!

Bad Acting, Plotholes, and non scary violence = Halloween 2007
I think the whole origin story takes away from the "Boogeyman" mystique that Carpenter created with the original.
This remake is simply not scary - It tries to be another Devils Rejects clone with a cast untalented younger actors.
I mean he barely even used the original theme which is one of the best things about Carpenters original.

....also wasn't sad to see Horror icon Dee Wallace as Laurie's adopted mother waste her talents! Guess she needed to pay rent?? Brad Dourif also wasted his talent, or what talent he thought he had!
ALSO PLOT HOLE:
Despite being locked in an asylum and having a brain that's mostly mush, he doesn't miss a step after breaking out -- he knows exactly where to find Laurie, who is living under her adoptive name. HOW???

I now feel more than confident calling this flick a true-blue remake and not any sort of "reboot" or "reimagining.

Rob Zombie's Halloween is such a mess, such a massive disappointment, such a... clusterfuck, that I am almost convinced I didn't even see the whole movie.

There's also a disturbingly high number of continuity errors:

FOR EXAMPLE:

Cops show up at a house different than the one they were asked to come to, and their car is shown in front of the house before they even arrive!
