2-Disc Special Edition Batman Films Coming to DVD

According to The Hollywood Reporter, on the heels of the theatrical success of Batman Begins and the birth of a new bat franchise, Warner Home Video said Tuesday that it will release a series of two-disc special editions of the four original Batman movies from the late 1980s and '90s.

Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin will be released Oct. 18. They will be available individually and as a gift set, Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1989-1997.

Each special-edition DVD features a new digital transfer of the movie. Bonus features include director commentaries by Joel Schumacher and Tim Burton, cast and crew interviews, several new documentaries, making of featurettes and nine music videos from Prince, Seal and the Smashing Pumpkins.

Batman was released June 23rd, 1989 and stars Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger, Robert Wuhl, Pat Hingle, Billy Dee Williams, Michael Gough, Jack Palance. The film is directed by Tim Burton.

Batman Returns was released June 19th, 1992 and stars Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Michael Gough, Michael Murphy, Cristi Conaway, Andrew Bryniarski. The film is directed by Tim Burton.

Batman Forever was released June 16th, 1995 and stars Val Kilmer, Tommy Lee Jones, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Chris O'Donnell, Michael Gough, Pat Hingle, Drew Barrymore. The film is directed by Joel Schumacher.
