He won't have to deal with those damn dirty apes ever again. At 84, screen legend Charlton Heston has passed away. At this time, the cause of death has not been disclosed. He is survived by his wife Lydia, who has declined to provide further details into the actor's passing.

Heston won a best actor Oscar in 1959 for his work in Ben-Hur. He was an iconic staple of the 50s and 60s, playing such characters as Moses in The Ten Commandments and the title character of El Cid.

Heston is perhaps best known for his work in the science fiction films Planet Of The Apes and Omega Man, which was recently turned into a Hollywood blockbuster starring Will Smith titled I Am Legend. The actor also appeared in the often quoted Soylent Green.

It's not a big deal the guy supported guns. I think it's a little disrespectful to say "fuck him" even if i don't care about his death.

Look at all the films he appeared in over the course of his 60-year career: The Greatest Show on Earth, The Ten Commandments, Touch of Evil, Ben-Hur, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Planet of the Apes, The Omega Man, Soylent Green ... and that's just the particularly famous ones. He continued to pop up here and there into the 2000s
