Director Rob Cohen has updated his production blog of his latest film, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, now filming in Tianmo, China, including a new photo of Jet Li and Brendan Fraser fighting:

Today, I shot Jet Li on his black stallion riding into battle in his jade armor. He looked nothing short of an Emperor. He has been totally professional and warm to me and the entire crew, like the prince he truly is.

As to the music: guys, trust me. Randy and I have done two classic scores (Dragonheart, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story) that continue to be used in trailers and commercials a decade and a half later. This will be an original score with new themes, played by the London Symphony Orchestra recorded at Abbey Road Studios. There will nothing "synth paddy" about it. It will be massive, thematic, and pulsing. I have great respect for Al Silvestri but this is a new, re-booted "Mummy" and it will have the score to match.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor arrives in theatres on August 1st, 2008.

I hope this movie has a better story line than the scorpian king.I liked the first two!

what damn i miss read that. good catch. damn that sucks. i love Silvestris work. why would they pick edelman over Silvestri. thats really lame. but oh well.

no, what he was saying about alan silvestri was that he wouldn't be doing the score for this one! he did the score for 'the mummy returns' and they are not going to use any of his music or themes for this one! it will be scored by rob cohen's film music collaborator, randy edelman!

I think this movie is going to be really good. the only regret right now is the absense of Rachel Weiz. She should have been called back. But whatever its all good. And from the picture going off of the lighting and what Fraiser is wearing and how Jet Li is presented, im more than certain that this will stay true to the first two and be even better. Also with the post up there saying about Alan Silvestri doing a complete score for this one. very cool. he is a very skilled film composer. just look at his awesome work on the BACK TO THE FUTURE franchise, which is in my opinion one of the few trilogies that worked perfectly for all three.

The last two were good. I keep tell'n you people that you have to take it for what it is. Now are Li and Fraiser going to win Oscars for this Hell NO! That's not what the movie intended for; it just fun action and a lot of bullets if they stay true to the first two.
