Underworld: Many rumors ran rampant on the net yesterday that the title of Kate Beckinsale's new horror flick, Underworld, was being changed to "The Convenant".
Turns out the rumors are completely false, according to our source at Sony. Here's the official press release:
May 7, 2003 - Screen Gems confirms that the title to the upcoming thriller UNDERWORLD, starring Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman, has NOT been changed. Rumors circulating to the contrary are false.
UNDERWORLD reimagines Vampires as a secretive clan of modern, aristocratic sophisticates whose mortal enemies are the Lycans (werewolves), a shrewd gang of street thugs who prowl the city's underbelly. The balance of power is upset when a beautiful young Vampire and a nascent Lycan - deadly rivals for centuries - fall in love. UNDERWORLD opens nationwide on Friday, September 19.
