@corey Yea I downloaded it online just because a friend recommended it. I wouldn't "recommend" it to people, but hey, it's not bad.

Utopia
@corey Might not, but it should definitely be nominated.

Tintin, Winnie the Pooh and Rango. But the Academy loves the foreign flicks, so we can usually count on one of those sliding into the nominees.

@utopia I don't think Winnie the Pooh will win. It will be TinTin all the way.

@moviegeek Wow. I'll have to see it. Don't consider that, Alvin, or Smurfs to be animated flicks though.

@corey It was WAY more entertaining than it had any right to be. I guess I enjoyed it because my expectations were so low. 3.0/5 for me.

@moviegeek How was Hop, actually?

@moviegeek I know. I just can't see The Smurfs or Chipmunks to count as "animated films".

@shuabert Well Harold and Kumar is "eligible" because it has some animation in it. But I doubt that either of those will end up being elligible.
Where is "Hop" on this list...?

Not the best year for animated pictures, but animation right now is now joke. I'd say in a ratio to live-action films, animated films are about 3:1.

@moviegeek If I'm not mistaken, Smurfs and Alvin would be eligible because they feature prominent animated characters for more than X% of the film's running time, which is why Revenge of Kitty Galore was eligible last year.

@moviegeek Oh, I know that. Just wasn't sure a mo-cap film would be eligible or not.
