The Fighter, is a drama about boxer Irish Micky Ward's unlikely road to the world light welterweight title. His Rocky-like rise was shepherded by half-brother Dicky, a boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded in life after nearly being KO'd by drugs and crime.
The Fighter was released December 10th, 2010 and stars Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams, Melissa Leo, Dendrie Taylor, Jack McGee, Jenna Lamia, Bianca Hunter. The film is directed by David O. Russell.

@Moviesismydrugofchoice2010...Maybe when he is an old man theyll decide to give him an oscar...c'mon Bale is way over due to win one. The Machinest alone shoudlve gotten him one, but i think hes the type of guy that doesnt give a crap wether he gets one or not, hes gonna keep doing what hes doing and show hes more telented and loved by fans then anyone who gets nominated...

I've heard promising things about this film, Oscar buzz mostly, particulary about Bale. I will watch it but I just don't see anything spectacular at the moment that stands out above all other contenders.
