New Line has just released the first ever picture from their upcoming three-dimensional adventure film Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D. Directed by Eric Brevig, it stars Brendan Fraser and Anita Briem. Check out the image below:

In this update of Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth, Brendan Fraser will portray a geologist who, with his teenage son, discovers a message hidden in an ancient artifact, leading them into a previously unseen world. Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D will be shot in live action, with the otherworldly landscapes and creatures supplied by high-definition, photo-real 3-D technology.

The film opens August 8th, 2008.

this is actually looking to be a really good film. Brenden Fraiser is a phenominal actor. I will be looking forward to this one.

Looks cool, especially since it's in 3-D. Gotta love Brendan Fraser when he's in an adventure movie.

i like brenden frasier, so as long its meant to be amusing itll be worth a view.

this movie will be sweet i just think its funny for brendan cuz if he is fighting mummys or going to the center of the earth it doesnt matter for him cuz no matter what he will always be a great actor as long as he is a bad ass archeologist lol. he is always hunting treasure...i think him and nicholas cage should team up for national treasure 3 lol

...The coolest thing is that it's in 3-D!! Gotta love a 3-D film for the summer! I'm still hooked on 3-D! Imagine "Dark Knight" in 3-D!?? Hmmmm!
