Journeyman Pictures has just signed on to produce The Girl, a drama about immigration and maternal bonding. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charlie Wilson's War co-star Emily Blunt is in negotiations to star in the film.
The Girl focuses on a Texas woman who finds the young daughter of an illegal immigrant that has become separated from her mother. Stuck with a child she doesn't wish to care for, the woman then searches for the child's mother, a quest that takes her south of the border.
The Girl is scheduled to begin shooting in the fall, providing that the writers' strike is cleared up by then.
