Ripley Underground: The Hollywood Reporter says that Barry Pepper (Knockaround Guys) and Tom Wilkinson (Ride With The Devil) are in negotiations to topline an untitled independent feature based on Patricia Highsmith's Tom Ripley driven novel Ripley Under Ground for director Roger Spottiswoode and it aims to go into production June 2 in England.
"Ripley" is the story of Tom Ripley (presumably played by Pepper though previously played by Matt Damon in The Talented Mr. Ripley, who has lived in the suburbs of Paris for some fifteen years, supported by income from not-so-honestly-gotten gains. When an impending scandal threatens his comfortable existence, Tom must act carefully and quickly to save all he knows.
The Aviator: At the same time, Pepper has been added to the cast of the Martin Scorsese-directed The Aviator for Initial Entertainment Group. He will play engineer Glenn Odekirk opposite Leonard DiCaprio's Howard Hughes.
