Origins of the Cloverfield Monster Revealed!

Bookmark: Digg Bookmark del.icio.us Bookmark Technorati Bookmark Furl Bookmark
Source:  Bloody Disgusting
Bloody Disgusting is reporting on the origins of the Cloverfield monster tonight. Upon viewing the film closely, you will in fact see a satellite fall out of the sky and into the ocean in one of the film's video flashbacks.

Bloody Disgusting writes:

In the FINAL, FINAL scene of the film we see Beth and Rob on a Ferris wheel at Coney Island. He pans the camera to his left to shoot the ocean and if you look to the far right of the screen you will see what appears to be the monster falling out of the sky and into the water. IN AN UPDATE: B-D reader 'afireinside' tells us, "JJ stated himself that the monster has been down at the bottom of the ocean for thousands of years. What fell into the ocean at the end of the movie was a satellite. If you pay attention to the viral marketing, Taragutu's site states that one of their satellites fell out of orbit and was lost. This is what woke up the monster from its dormant state." You be the judge....

In addition, at the end of the credits an audio clip reveals that the monster is not yet dead.

I find it hilarious that we have to wait months after the movie to get answers off the internet.

ok for all of you tht think that the satillite woke the monster up ur wrong. what happened was tht it was originally a fish that lived very deep in the ocean where its extremely cold. so anyway Slusho"s (A drink company associated with Tagruato's oil company) secret ingredient, which was "sea nectar" was uncontained and made its way to the fish. the fish started to feed on it and in the month or two it grew and attacked the Tagruato oil station Chuani off the coast of NY. i kno this cus on the Slusho site it says the founder's son had a dream that he was a small fish who fed on the delicous nectar and grew into an enormous whale. this is the most accurate origin i have gathered from what i have read. as far as the falling object that is jsut a little thing to add to the updates in the prequel to tell viewers that it was real.

to E3842 that was a complete waste of my time. if you go google pics of the monster you will see that it clearly looks nothing like your lame 1957 move, im sorry.

This is consistent with some other theories I have heard about the sea creature being here on earth already (at the bottom of the sea). For an additional twist, go here: http://www.slusho.jp and check out the history. This is the product website for the company that character Rob was going to work for in Japan.

Oh, and the sequel is confirmed: http://imdb.com/title/tt1179933

Cheers

i think they will definintely make a sequel and the origin would be explained. i think they shouldnt do it from the home cameras this time tho just so we can have more broad understanding about the monster

In the sequel, if they make one, they will probably show the origin of the monster in a more explainable way.

This movie was awesome!!!!!! even better than I expected. Knowing JJ Abrams, I didnt think the monster would ever be shown, but thank God they did, cause it was awesome!!!!!!

Beast from 20,000 Fathoms maybe but there is no evidence the Cloverfield creature came from another planet either as an egg (20 Million Miles to Earth)or a mature creature. Also both those beasts had relatively normal arms for Tyranasaurous Rex type animals. Short, stubby and with claws. The Cloverfield monsters arms are extreamly long, articulated like the Mantis and have nothing at the ends.

I think it was more a rip off of 20 million miles to earth and beast from 2000 fathoms....

I am 56 and have been a Sci-Fi nut case since birth. There was something about the creature that seemed so very familiar to me and it drove me crazy all weekend.
It was mostly the configuration of the creatures arms.
I got it!
Go to imdb.com and look up the 1957 movie "The Deadly Mantis" The original trailer is there to view.
I think you will find it interesting.
