MovieWeb Adds Rotten Tomatoes scores to it's massive movie library!
Our movie reviews just added some magic.

We're happy to announce that MovieWeb has integrated Rotten Tomatoes scores with our film database. Now, users can easily browse through reviews written by other MovieWeb users, catch-up on all of our official reviews from Movieweb's select group of sanctioned critics, as well as see what critics from across the web are saying with our new "Critic Reviews" button, which offers an up-to-date look at everything happening with Rotten Tomatoes scores.

Check it out! Simply click on any movie title in our database you wish to check out, or do a search for any particular movie you wish to see. When you have arrived on that movie's main page, click-through from the "Meter" in the film details list, or click the "Reviews" button on the left side. You will be brought to our User reviews sub-section for that movie, where you will find the option to write your own review in the right-hand box, read fellow Users' Reviews, or access the online world's best movie critics via Rotten Tomatoes.

And the best part is, you can find this all in one place, right here at MovieWeb. Enjoy!

I definitely see potential here, Brian... Interesting to see how it works out...

@slysnide Absolutely incorrect. RT stuff is separated out from MW stuff. Hit a film above in the news story. You'll see how it all lays out.

@corey Great stuff. We're definitely contemplating more games!

@brian: So in other words, we're going to have to be scrolling for dozens of pages on end in search of reviews we did here for new releases, as they would be bogged down by all the Rotten Tomatoes reviews which would inevitably pop up on the first day of release too. Thus extending the process with reviews we careless about bogging us down even more. Ugh! Longer wait times to load sh*t up on my PC. :P

@brian In honest opinion, you should start a Quiz section where users pretty much create quizzes based on anything movies/TV and then other users can take the quiz and get points for how well they did at the end of the quiz and then those points rack up in your Quiz-bar or something like that. The fun thing though is in order for a user to make a quiz, they need a total of 25 points, so it pretty much becomes a game. is a golden plus, for each user that fails their quiz they receieve a bonus 10 points. Tell me that doesn't sound like fun?

i dont know how i feel about this. I lost respect for rotten tomatoes a long time ago. Id highly recommend the imdb top 1000 voters rating though

@brian Yeah, I don't actually use Flixster. I just started out reviewing movies using Facebook's "movies" app which happened to BE Flixster. I never go on their site, it's just where all my sh*t is hosted, lol.

@shuabert Same goes for Flixster. :) Except yours of course!

@detegolomeshe Reviews from 14 year-olds with no credentials? That's hardly more relevant than RT. The IMDB boards are one of the most insufferable places on the internet.

Thanks. Nice feature. But you should add and IMDB ratings and reviews because they are more relevant and better than RT.

all i have to say is... BOUT TIME MW! thanks for implementing RT's better late than never

@brian. Awesome new feature. RT is pretty much the standard for aggregate review scores, so it's cool to see you guys integrating it on this site. Just curious, since RT and Flickster are the same company, what does this mean for that Flickster review import idea I threw out there a while back?

@brian - this is sweet! As for a Red Stamp, I'd be honored for a consideration. Check out my latest. I'm with @bawnian-dexeus --it'd be nice to fix a few :)

@SpaceCowboy - you have to take RT in stride (grain of salt, if you will). I use it to decide if I want to spend money at the theater (59% or below = rental. 10% or below = no touch. 90% or more, opening day, depending if I'm interested in the feature). Helps with the "saving cash on movies I'm sure to enjoy" department.

@thedude-abides - for some reason, MW ratings are always inflated. There's a dozen or so users who ALWAYS give 5 stars to movies a year before it's released, or 0 stars (and you know who you are :P )

Okay. I am seriously liking this, mostly because I can check an RT score without having to open a new browser. Keeping it close to home. In a word--LOVEIT! :D

Hmm, in the last few days I wrote and discovered a few comments asking why certain films weren't reviewed with so many films, especially many great classics lacking any info....etc. This is a step in the right direction, with the hope that we will no longer see great films lacking info, and at the very least have a review attached to it.

There are no perfect reviewers out there. Whether one agrees with a particular review or a reviewer is open to debate.

@brian I ain't bitter. Just hate how just a handful of critics that decide to review a movie become the majority for films. Like, whenever a movie comes out I always end up hearing "this movie got this on the tomato meter" or "this film is rotten". I just hate how Rotten Tomatoes has set the bar for how good or bad a movie is, and it's because of how few critics review a movie. MovieWeb being able to review is okay because it's more social then RT and doesn't set any bar and you get to see what your friends thought of a movie. So I like that. Reason I can't, as you put it, "fight back" with reviews is because I cannot edit any of my reviews which I have either had a change of opinion on the movie or have been inspired to write more, but alas am stuck with a 50-word review from 3 years ago...and I just don't see alot of new releases since I don't have the time or jusy any interest in most of these new movies.

@thedude-abides I checked out your reviews. Looks like you're on your way.

As for star rating... yeah, you're looking at a possible 11 stars. Each half star is a little over 9%.
