James Vanderbilt wrote the first draft of Spider-man 4 and it seems he has returned to write 5 and 6!! In an unseen move, Marvel and Columbia have announced that 4 5 and 6 will be an interconnected storyline in this new trilogy. I sure hope part of that is The Black Cat.

...Lizard? I thought since Venom was in the last one carnage might be in the next. I never liked Lizard much but ive been waiting on dr.conors to go ahead and change since he's been in all the movies. And who's James villderbuilt play?

So I guess now MW is saying that all the news that was built up to this point is all ... rumor?? Well that doesn't make much sense. MW was the ones that broke the news on "Tobey Maguire's Unprecedented Deal to Make 2 Films" and "James Vanderbilt Pitching a 2-Movie Story Arc for Spider-Man 4" - and yet now they're simply "RUMORS" ? MovieWeb you better check your sources next time. Regardless, I do want to see Kirsten Dunst make her return. She better realize soon that they're making this movie, and negotiate her salary, because the screenplay is about done -- they're gonna start production real soon.

Firing James Vanderbilt was the STUPIDEST thing they could have done for this movie.

Yes, The Lizard vs. Spider-Man is going to be sick. Dylan Baker is perfectly cast as Columbia University Professor Dr. Curt Connors, most likely The Lizard scenes will be CGI, but still shots may be Baker in a suit. Can't wait to see the final cut in 2011. It will be interesting to see the villains in these next two, as Spidey has a wide range in his rogues gallery.

I am wondering where the story of Peter Parker will go this time. In the comics, after he graduates college, he marries MJ and becomes a science teacher at Midtown High, his old high school. They are definitely building it up to where he is going to propose to MJ, but they have introduced Gwen Stacy. I'd like to see if the introduce Felicia Hardy, even a small cameo would be cool. Maybe in 5 he could end the story where he marries MJ finally and settles down as a science teacher.

"spidey against the lizard" sounds like a cool plot as well.

or maybe the "goblin kills gwen" is not that necesary,and allow gwen to live(in the movie series). and sinse the "gwen" story is done and over with,raimi would continue on to the next story of... perhaps,"KRAVEN,THE HUNTER",or "MISTERIO"?

The Dark Knight kind of ruined the Spiderman franchise for me. They should'nt even name this new movie Spiderman4. They should go with Maximum Carnage, that was a great ghraphic novel series. Carnage done the right way, would lead to a R rated movie. So they should do it' but they won't.

Oh yeah man i loved that characther in the cartoons.

Doctor Connors turning into the lizard would be perfect

it can also have the hobgoblin set to kill gwen stacy sinse the original green goblins,norman and harry were killed on the previous films.

Let's hope it's better than the rest and not a rehash of oldies and not goodies.

The Lizard would def be the shit in this movie

I heard that The Lizard will definitely be in it. There is talk circulating Carnage and Felicia Hardy, but that is speculation.

I think Felicia Hardy should be in this one, but hold off on Black Cat until Spider-Man 5, which they are thinking of filming back-to-back with 4. Set her character up to become Black Cat for 5.

Also I feel that the Carnage symbiote should be set up for 5. Doc Connors still has that piece of the Venom symbiote. It can be revealed at the end to have been experimenting with it, using his regenerative DNA which changed him into The Lizard. In which the regenerative properties are now expanding the symbiote and changing its form, giving off a reddish tint. This could set up Carnage for 5.

Whatever they do, I hope to see Lizard at least. They have scaled 4 down to two villains, so its anyone's guess as to who the other will be. I am really hoping that they DO decide to bring Black Cat into the series - she's NOT comparable to Catwoman, I think she's better. Can't wait for this movie. Yes, 3 sucked but this will be better.

James Vanderbilt is currently pitching the script, remember he wrote Zodiac, so we could end up with a darker film.
