After their mother dies, two Texan men are faced with the fact that they are ill-equiped to live without a woman to take care of things. After many attempts to try and replace their mother the men decide to kidnap a supermarket clerk. The clerk is a mistreated wife who likes the idea of getting away from her abusive husband. The husband, however, finds out about what's happened and tracks the group down to make their life as uncomfortable as possible, convicing the brothers and the woman to hit the road in a crime spree.
