"Premonition" is another paranormal story starring Sandra Bullock, who also starred in last year's "The Lake House." This one, however is so confusing and disjointed it will leave audiences wondering what was really going on.
Imagine living a week of your life in nonconsecutive days. Suppose you woke up one day and it was Wednesday and you discover your husband is dead. Then you wake up the next day and it is Monday and he is still alive. Well, this is what happens to Linda Hanson (Bullock) who experiences this strange and unexplainable phenomenon. On the days she knows what is about to happen in the future, she is able to alter some of the incidents. But she must put together the pieces of this strange and horrific puzzle to figure out what is going on, what has gone on, and what is about to go on.
When she goes to her priest for help and guidance - and he actually believes her story - she is told, "Faith is believing in something beyond yourself." That is a nice sentiment, but it leaves her wondering what to do about her current situation.
On the days her husband is alive, she seeks to regain the love and closeness they once had but has waned over the years. Can she alter their trajectory enough to save him from his impending death or is fate something she cannot change?
Bullock turns in another fine performance, however the disjointed story and the missing pieces will probably be what audiences take away from this confusing film.
