Year One: Review By OhTheFilmNerd

This is all knocked out of the bible, and placed in front of Harold Ramis who ponders on the idea of evolutionizing this film, by putting MIcheal Cera and Jack Black as a comedy duo amid chaos and madness (and not in the humourous way).

A film that is awfully written, the only actor trying to feast through these lines is Jack Black. Whoes character takes a bite out of the forbidden fruit, ignoring his best buddy Oh's wishes, but already not being the number one hunter his father is, or even gatherer, he is hated within the tribe, so eating the sacred fruit doesnt help him out.

So he decides he is the mesiah, the one, so he heads out, out to be confronted by biblical characters who are turned into smoosh, along with pointless cameos that put Paul Rudd to shame, and Christopher Mintz Plasse and Hank Hazaria.

Harold Ramis mocks the bible, do we care no, but this is an american version of the Montey Python that just has not worked.

It lacks comic passing, it doesnt pass the time, there is a great one liner here uttered by our favourite junior school teacher such as when Oh is being interrogated he has his titti*s twisted and Jack replies horrified "let go of his titti*s" but i wish all of the films comic timing and pacing and humour were like this.

I watched first with the TV molester the 12A or PG-13 rated one first of all, all humour and emotion sucked out of it dry, after 40 minutes we despaired and headed off to see The Expendables, but i retried this time with the Unrated version, it put more light on how this film is, but it did not raise the Overall quote or rating i am to bestow upon this is

Overall

A dull, overlong, wannabe Python parody that self loathes its main pin point, and is drastically done, and looks like it was shot on a budget of 100 dollars and the actors throw in for free if you buy the kids meal.
