X-Men Origins: Wolverine: Review By SMRTALEC

After X2 I wanted to see the Weapon X story on the big screen. They hinted about it perfectly in X2 and the idea of a Wolverine origins movie was such a great move by the studio. X-Men Origins: Wolverine had so much potential. It's the telling of Wolverine's origins, Weapon X, and how he lost his memory. The biggest problems with this movie were the rushed first act, a terrible third act, and Deadpool's depressing fate.

Why did they barely spend any time on Wolverine's involvement with Stryker and Team X??? That was rushed soooo much! They should've had at least two or three more scenes with all of them on their assignments. The bonds between Wade, John Wraith, Wolverine, Bradley, etc. were barely established and emphasized on. Guhh!

As soon as Gambit drops Wolverine off at the island, things got BAD. Everything became extremely ridiculous and lame. Especially when it came to Deadpool who was controlled through a computer by Stryker...and he possessed all the abilities of the mutants Stryker specifically captured. WTF?!

They ruined Deadpool, period. And the very last part of the movie that came after the credits was a joke. He was beheaded, his arm reached for this face, his eyes open and he whispers "shh!"

Awful.

I will admit that the movie had a few cool parts but not enough for me to really consider it a good movie. I wanted to like this movie, I really did. There are a lot of things I can appreciate about this film when it comes to atmosphere, sets, acting, etc. X3 pissed me off and this one did too. Sorry guys :(
