Well, let me start by saying that I am surprised that this doesn't get too much credit. Just look at the other reviews. I don't understand the people that didn't like this movie.

Anyway-

The story is good... but maybe not the most original storyline out there. Here's just a basic summary. Nicolas Cage is an excellent soldier. He is assigned a code talker (A.K.A Windtalker) to protect in the war. A code talker is some one who can tell their team mates important information over radio, without the Japanese being able to understand what they are saying, therefor not giving off valuable information to the enemy.

The acting is... well DUH!! It's Nicolas Cage. Forget that he did Moonstruck, and a few of his older ones, and he is a great actor! Many say that some of his movies recently haven't been too good. I, however disagree. I liked Ghost Rider, and Bangkok Dangerous. Next was decent, but that's about it, but not bad. He yet again brings us a phenomenal preformance, and movie. And of course not just Nicolas Cage do a good job, but so does the rest of the cast.

The directing is great too! I mean it's John Woo. He has brought us other great action films like Face/Off, and Broken Arrow. He yet again delivers us a great film, that rises above the average war flick. The war scenes are brutal, and make you care about the characters, and want them to make it through. Very good job on his part. Does not shelter the audience from how ugly was really is.

The visuals are good, but very disturbing. Many limbs cut off, and bloody battle scenes. I know some one who couldn't watch this movie. Too disturbing for them.

Minor complaints-

Played the same soundtrack over and over again. Same tune in almost every battle squence.

Very long movie. Somewhere around 2 hours 15 minuets. Possibly not every battle scene needed.

I strongly recommend this film to you. I do not gauarantee that you will love it, because there are some who didn't. But still give it a shot, especially for Nicolas Cage fans.

Random thing-

Another actor, who in my opinion would be a different option for Nicolas Cage's role, would be Jason Statham. When you watch it, you'll know what I mean. Kinda hard to explain.

Glad you thought the review was good. I think it has only taken me 140 reviews PLUS to tey to figure out how I want to write my reviews. I think I am gonna keep it this style, explaining the directing, acting, and such. but like you stated- at either the beginning or the end, put random thoughts, and complaints, if any. I do get what you mean about Ghost Rider. I personally thought it was good enough though. And Face/Off was hands down Nicolas Cage's best role, movie, and performance.

Maybe not as much people dont like this as i thought. lol

I thought this was really good movie, along with Saving Private Ryan, although I'm not a big War genre movie fan,

this actual is a good review, and I agree with this review, keep it up, and start to gain your style and mirror it for your future review, and keep the "Minor complaints" and "Random Thing" section, that makes for a better review and reviewer, when you add personal thoughts.

Nicolas Cage was very good in this, I personally think his best role was in Face/Off, he had to play John Travolta, and a crazy self, and as far as Ghost Rider, I liked him, just thought the story needed to be better, and personification of Johnny Blaze Ghost rider, need a little more "oomph".

Actually you can't edit even though it says you have 24 hours, another glitch and response to bullsh*t reviews, it really sucks, that's Why I couldn't edit my Mr. Brooks review

And as far as the length, I like long movies, that keep you captivated, so I disagree there

Words misspelled (start using word, write it then copy to word, then edit, then paste it back):
    phenomenal
    valuable
    excellent
    guarantee
    sequence
    performance
    therefore
    Kind of
