Whiteout: Review By NO NAME

Kate Beckinsale does her best with the given material, but the film is weighed down by its mind boggling performances and story.

You're right I did put down Alaska. Sorry about the mistake there, I sometimes get the two confused. And there are polar bears in Alaska. But no its not the biggest waste of money ever, but its certainly on the list.

I'm wondering if you actually went to see this movie! First of all it is set in Antarctica (that's the South Pole) and it's inhabitants are penguins (remember March of the Penguins?) not polar bears! I just went to see the movie and while it suffered from a confusing plot and so-so visual effects, it wasn't the worst movie I've ever plunked down my hard earned money to watch. Kate's performance was ok, considering what she had to work with and the highlight of the movie was Alex O'Loughlin's "smartass Aussie pilot" and Tom Skeritt's "fatherly doctor". I'd give it a B- for the beautiful scenery and Alex's delightful performance. He'll be starring in Three Rivers on CBS Sunday Oct.4th too!
