Watchmen: Review By the_tall_guy
Watchmen (just like The Dark Knight) has set a new standard on comic book adaptions.

Watchmen was one of those movies that everyone I knew was hyped to see. I thought at first it would be a movie I can't get into; like it wasn't a movie for me. Then I saw the movie on Blu-ray the other day, and ;et me say . . . Watchmen is my type of movie.
Let me begin with the look of the movie. The artistry, the color, the design; all perfect. Almost like an actual comic book on the bigscreen. The look of the characters are so distinct. The slow motion shots give the scenes an epic touch on reality. Director Zack Snyder knew what he was doing.
The acting was phenominal. Each character has a certain characteristic that we can all relate to. The Comedian is the one who masks his pain and suffering with humor and violence. Dr. Manhattan is the logical side of humans; he thinks with his brain, not his heart. Silk Spectre II is the confused and pressured one. She's caught between her love for Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan. She has a reputation to live up to from her mother (Silk Spectre I) and (SPOILER) finding out the Comedian is her dad! Rorschach is the bad guy who does good. He's the one that thinks outside the box and lets no one mess with him. Although society sees him as a villan, he is in fact a good guy. Ozymandias is the darkness we have inside of us. He puts on a face and hides behind his business, while having a deep desire to kill innocent lives. He's the one who acts good, but betrays everyone in the end. The actors who play these heros must have understood what the character represent, because they all give outstanding performances. Two thumbs way up.
The story was strong. It focused a lot on moving the story forward with character rather than most movies that move forward with too many action sequences. The world that the characters live in, dark as it may be, is real. It isn't that sort of Batman story where the hero overcomes the conflicts at the end; the hero always triumps and is impervious to emotional breakdown. These characters all are affected by the world they live in. The heros don't always come out of the dark into the light. That's what I love about this movie. The reality of the world.
I give this film 5 stars, and I know it deserves it. Who watches the Watchmen? I do.

Did you watch the same film as me? But then again, I thought the Dark Knight sucked big style as well.

Watchmen was really good, but The Dark Knight is still my favorite movie of all time.

This was as good as the dark knight.

Buckshot
This movie was 40 minute too long. The characters failed to keep my interest except for Jackie Haley's version of Rohrschach.

Why can't you give it five stars? How much would you give it?
