Vantage Point is far from great; in fact it's not even good. It suffers from a laughably contrived ending and a promising storytelling gimmick gone bad; the filmmaker doesn't stick with his own "Vantage Point" concept and see it out to the end of the film.

Complaints aside, though, Vantage Point is enjoyable as escapist fluff, solid PG-13 suspense action that effectively entertains for 90 minutes. The cast is great, especially Forest Whitaker, William Hurt, and a brief appearance by Sigourney Weaver, and the last half hour flies by with breathless intensity. Vantage point doesn't break any new ground, but it doesn't suck either.
