THE GOOD OF THE MOVIE:

“Vantage Point” is a thriller/mystery about eight different points of view based on the assassination of the President of the United States. The movie was made to make you think and solve a puzzle, but the only good thing of this movie is the way it was made. The only interesting thing to me was all the surprising twists. That’s pretty much it, and the acting.

THE BAD OF THE MOVIE:

This movie just goes back and forth. The movie shows the same minutes over and over again but with a different character. Its interesting but after three views it gets boring and stupid, I know it was the point of the film, being all these different points of views, but it just got ridiculous after the third person or fourth. Whenever Forest Whittaker was done. I just expected a little more out of this.

ACTING:

With a great cast in this movie, you can expect great acting. The movie stars Dennis Quaid, who plays in other movies such as “Yours, Mine, and Ours”, “The Express”, and “Smart People”. Dennis Quaid is a great actor and he does a good job in this movie. Dennis is the main character of the movie, even though no one really has a lead role. Matthew Fox also plays in this movie. Fox is on the ABC Action/Drama “Lost”. Matthew Fox does a swell job in this movie but his part is really only minimum. Sigourney Weaver stars in this but why is she on the main cast list? She is only in the movie for about eight minutes and her name is on the DVD cover. I wouldn’t call her a lead role because to me, her part was only a cameo, not a lead. In her few minutes she does all right. I can’t really grade her because I didn’t see her enough to do so. Sigourney Weaver is in other movies such as “Alien”, “Aliens”, “Alien 3”, and “Alien Resurrection”, and more. Forest Whittaker has a part in this movie as a normal civilian. Forest does an excellent job and I loved his little connection with the little girl. My favorite part in this movie was Whittaker’s point-of-view. The rest of the movie is really just nothing to me. In conclusion, the movie doesn’t have bad acting, I really cant complain about it. So, don’t expect bad acting in this.

PLOT:

The purpose in this movie is to show point-of-view. The movie does an alright job doing it but fitting eight views in ninety minutes just kills the movie completely. The movie could have been a little longer AND better. I would’ve liked a little more background story between the characters instead of just going in. The only back-story you really get is from Dennis and Forests characters. Plus: the whole movie is just eight views of the President getting assassinated and what really happens. Why couldn’t this just be a normal movie? Why couldn’t it just go back and forth between the character? It sort of bothered me how every five-ten minutes the movie was rewind itself. It was just aggravating. So, I liked the plot of the wole President thing, but I didn’t like how they used it. The movie was different, but I didn’t like how it was all back and forth. Sorry, to the fans of this.

DIRECTION:

The direction was fine.

VISUALS:

Another good thing in this was that it had good visual effects. They entertained me BUT, when you see the same visual over and over again each person it just gets old.

OVERALL:

Overall, this was nothing too special in my opinion. It was decent but not decent enough. I just found this movie to be a little over-the-top. It wasn’t that great, but that’s my opinion. In my opinion, I say Skip this!
