This was a great war movie like "Saving Private Ryan," but usually...I don't like Tom Cruise, but he did a great job playing the German General planning to kill Adolf Hitler during WWII. Bryan Singer also did a good job directing this drama thriller! That also explains why Tom was wearing an eye patch during this film, he lost his left eye and three fingers on his right hand during the battle in South America at the beginning of "Valkyrie." My dad was with me when we saw this movie in theaters, and we both loved it!

Not sure about this one, but only because of the casting. British actors for the most part playing Germans, where there no German actors available that speak English? Me thinks part of the reason this ploy was used was because old Tom could not do a German accent. Yet I would imagine most of the British actors could have done it, especially the likes of Branagh, Nighy, Wilkinson - all could have probably pulled it off quite well. The only way you could tell any of them were German was due to the uniform. But to me it didn't feel like they were German at all. Could have been a Mel Brooks production!
