The story-Julius and Vincent Benedict from birth to about thirty years later, are completely unaware of each others existence. Julius is a strong man in both physique and in mentality. Vincent the very opposite. Hard to say that these two are twins, being born from the same mother in a scientific experiment. When these two cross paths, it sets off one adventure that will not only change who they are, but will bring them closer together. An intriguing story for a comedy and the film itself is not overblown, carrying the right amount of time for the concept to take shape and make sense to the audience. Screenwriters William Davies, William Osbourne, Timothy Harris, and Herschel Weingrod take on the challenge of creating a comedy that also carries a sense of heart. They succeed in doing this, but yet again in some parts of the film the comedy is too overblown and the drama is overblown in some scenes as well. For four screenwriters, this is a tragedy, but they did not fail in accomplishing a film that still brought upon smiles and laughter in the audience.
The acting-Arnold Schwarzeneggar plays Julius and he matches the character very well and he does surprisingly well in helping his character to evolve in the film from being a man who had never met his brother, to becoming a man immersed with the concept of a family. Danny Devito gives a hilarious performance as Vincent and not only does he look like the character, but he also portrays drama, comedy all into one little package and he delivers. Without him, the film would have lost so much of its comedic potential. Kelly Preston stars as Marnie and to be honest, her character is somewhat boring. There is nothing much to her character except that she falls for Julius. Chloe Webb, Preston's onscreen sister is the same as well. There is no interesting concept between the female characters. The cast is good, but far from being overall great.
The directing-Ivan Reitman directs this film decently and compared to his "Ghostbuster" films this does not win. It seems as if he took a break from the world of filmmaking and came up with a film focused mainly towards comedy. Though he does not fail two-thirds of the film, the last third he stumbles.
The visuals-there is absolutely nothing to see here. The cinematography, by Andrzej Bartkowiak, is very decent though it occasionally captures a well close up shot of the main characters and this time, it does not help to convey emotion, it relies solely on the actor to do so.
The score-composers George Delerue and Randy Edelman is good enough to capture and express the comedy throughout the film, though it is instantly forgettable afterwards.
Overall, if you want a film full of comedy and a sense of drama, this is the film for you. It is nonetheless however a fun film to watch.

I didn't like this one (but I'm not a fan of DeVito). Good review however ;)
