This was a really funny movie along with "Step Brothers!" Great war action, lots of funny moments, and Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise doing really good roles in this movie! The story of "Tropic Thunder" is that these actors are filming the biggest war movie ever in Southeast Asia. Here are the guys for this movie:

1. Ben Stiller as Tugg Speedman, an action-packed actor who wants to be the biggest star for this new war film.

2. Jack Black as Jeff Portnoy, a drug-addicted comedian actor who wants to change his image by being in such a serious film.

3. Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus, an award-winning actor who dyes his skin color to play his role as an African-American soldier in this war movie. Great job for being nominated by the Oscars, Robert!

4. Brandon T. Jackson as Alpa Chino, a kind of actor with a new "Booty Sweat" energy drink commercial during the fake trailers at the beginning. That part was really hilarious, but I don't want to reveal what happened in the commercial to those who haven't seen this movie yet. Anyway, he's going to be in the new war movie with the others.

5. Nick Nolte as Four Leaf Tayback, the guy who plans to put the actors in a real-life situation in the jungle, but then it turns into a failure later.

6. Steve Coogan as Damien C*ckburn, the director who's in charge of the war movie. After his arguement with the producer, he takes Four Leaf Tayback's advice, but he is already killed in a booby trap which left the actors stranded in the jungle!

7. Tom Cruise as Les Grossman, a crude movie producer who likes to call everybody names when he is really pissed off! He also did a great job like Robert Downey Jr.!

Anyway, "Tropic Thunder" is one of the funniest action comedies I've seen in 2008 so far!

I do not think this movie quite makes it to even three stars.

I think this is more of a 3 than a 5 star movie, nice review though.

Couldn't understand what people saw in this film at all - I would just term it as daft/stupid. Over hyped to my mind, people probably feel almost obliged to think it is funny. I would watch 'Yes Man' with Jim Carrey instead. Now that is a 'funny' film that deserves a 5 star rating. This would top out at 3 and that would be very generous.
