Trick 'r Treat: Review By Jakn
An insane Halloween movie that screams, hits-and-misses too much, and scares itself trying to make points to the rules of Halloween night in ridiculous and obnoxious ways

Like this film tries to show the rule of checking you candy by showing a kid coming up to some psychopathic stranger's home, sits down with the psycho, eats the stranger's candy, and then starts upchucking blood endlessly. The problem with that scene is showing the kid throw up and ton load of blood. Yes it is trying to make a point of checking drugged candy, but throwing up chucks of blood that could fill two human bodies isn't something that would be impressing to make a point.
What I'm trying to say is that when the tries to make points they show them in such odd ways that is almost laughable, not in finding it funny, but laughing at it from how silly it is. There are a few scenes that are actually funny from how the characters act, but most I laughed at this film, not with it. Another problem with this film is how these characters act immature and ludicrous. Like there a certain scene in this film when it begins to be freaky, creepy, and slowly rise to be scary, but then from either the characters or these off-turning visuals makes it from freaky and creepy to boring and disappointing. That's pretty rude of this film.
There is one totally bizarre scene near the ending of this film with a midget wearing a clothed pumpkin over his head climbing on the walls, setting up traps, flying around torturing an old guy. I found it so stupid how what point that scene was trying to show. That's a bit too extreme to show a point like to people.
Maybe this is the type of film that would be shown to kids to make good points for them. This is more of a Halloween horror film for children to watch, but trying to show these points to older people will just be revolting and be laughed at. 'Trick'r'Treat' is comically foolish, screams too loud to be scary, laughable, goofy that tries to have meanings and possibly the most ludicrous, silliest, and most ridiculous Halloween movie I've seen yet.
I sometimes think to myself why I even bothered watching this made-for-TV film when I know that most made-for-TV films aren't worth the time watching. If there are made-for-TV films that actually are worth the time, then they should have been released in theaters, but even movies in theaters can be crappy as well as this, and yes I have seen theatrical films worse than some of the made-for-TV films that I've seen before. Don't get me started naming films those films.
The only made-for-TV horror film that I actually found scary is 'Stephen King's IT' which some called a TV miniseries while others called it a made-for-TV horror film. I'd have to say that it was more of a film. To this day I still don't why 'IT' didn't go theatrical from how terrifying and haunting it is. Yes, a three hour film is taking it a little too far, but still!
'Trick'r'Treat' is like watching another boring horror film. Not worth the time to see.

Thanks Everbody! I took this film seriously because I thought it was going to be a seriuos horror film. I wasn't excepting anything silly thats why I took it seriously. @Wichitagalzl and @Moviesismydrugofchoice2010 first of all I didn't know the midget (as I called him) was named Sam. I never read the comic-books.
I said this was a made-for-TV movie because I was told by some of my friends last year that this was going to be released in theaters in 2007, but because of the Hollywood strike the movie was put on hold. Then in 2009 when the movie came out my friends told me the movie was rumored into a made-for-TV movie. Thats why I said that. And like I said I didn't understand why 'Stephen King's IT' was made-for-TV. It should have been put in theaters. Thankfully for remakes 'IT' is being remade into theaters next year, but anyways.
Once again Thanks everbody!

Nice review, but I actually really enjoyed this one. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is just a plain fun to watch. It's a new twist on Halloween traditions with great actors. It also reminds me of Goosebumps or Creepshow and tales of that nature. And the "midget," you speak of goes by the name of Sam, who is like an enforcer of Halloween rules and traditions. Ignore the traditions, Sam hunts and kills you. But this was also my least favorite part of the movie because of the ridiculousness of it. If they had left his mask on and left out the jumping around it could have been an easily better scene.

You're coming up with good points, but there are still many grammatical errors. Tidy it up just a bit. Still a good review considering.

i found this movie to be silly, fun entertainment, cuz its not trying to be a big scary/horror movie that some films stride to be these days and still fall short. This film reminds me of all those silly episodes from the Goosebumps books and tv series from the 90's that i grew up with. Its a good review but it feels u took this film too seriously when its not a serious movie, have fun with it....
oh and i dnt get how u think this was a made for tv movie when it was actually supposed to be released in theaters back in '07 but the studio pushed the release back to the point where they shelved it, till they released it on dvd in '09...
