Transformers: revenge of the fallen. There were many things I liked about it and things I hated about it. I’ll start with the bad things first.

The character development was my biggest problem with the movie because I felt they could have developed the new characters a lot better like they did in the first one. These robots have their own personality and should have been exposed more than following Sam everywhere. I thought the title of the movie was transformers and not follow Sam everywhere he goes. My second problem with this movie is the humor, it seems like Michael bay is some kind of frat boy and finds these jokes funny, for example devastator with balls!?! C’mon now! Am I supposed to find that funny during an action scene!?! I also had a problem with the twins. Did Michael bay have to make them as annoying and offensive as possible? And why did we have to follow them throughout the whole movie? What about sideswipe and acree? They’re new characters too! Why don’t you develop them!?! The plot of course was dual and wasn’t explained till 90 mins into the movie. I mean 90 mins of the movie was nothing but metal banging into each other and dogs humping. Steven Spielberg in the first movie must have had a bigger hand and held Michael bay back because in the 2nd one it felt like he told Spielberg to sit back and relax since the first one made so much money. Bay probably thought he knew what he was doing so he just went crazy with everything and blew everything up. What piss me off the most was the terminator robot. has micheal bay lost his f*cking mind!?! Jesus!!! Also the movie didn’t know what kind of direction and tone they wanted to take after all those people died and when the decepticons were taking over. I felt the tone throughout the whole movie was just dual.

Now with the good things about the movie, one, the special effects were unbelievable. It made you feel like the robots were really alive and real. Two, the visuals were fantastic; I mean they were just mind blowing. Finally three, the actions scenes were the best part of the movie. The epic battle scenes and explosions were mind blowing and had me on the edge of my seat. My hat goes off the special effect people because they did an amazing job.

Overall the movie was poorly done because of the story, character development, and humor. I think Michael bay rushed this movie and should have waited another year to come out with a solid story. The bad outweighed the good. I gave it a 3.5 because the action was just unbelieveable and kept me on the edge of my seat. I feel the special effects artist is what made this movie decent so all the credit should go to them for making such mind blowing special effects. That’s where the 75 million dollars should have went to. You cannot compare this to TDK because it blows this movie out of the water with a great story, great directing, great character development, etc. TDK is a 10 on the scale here. I just hope Spielberg has a bigger hand in the 3rd movie so he can hold Michael bay back from all his craziness.
