Ok let me start off by saying Im a hardcore Transformers fan that loves the G1 era which means its hard for me to review any of Bay's films without some bias. The first was passable, the second was a complete waste of time (even though my review of it said I liked it, I was still in denial lol) but did the master of effects go out on a high note? The answer is yes.

Really there is only 2 ways to watch these films, as a TF fan or a casual movie goer and if your the ladder you'll enjoy the third installment much more. Why didn't I enjoy it as much? Its because I feel that Bay uses Autobots/Decepticons not as characters but as walking talking props with little to no character development or characteristics (like Starscream not showing his backstabbing nature toward Megatron in any film or that all Decepticons pretty much look the same) and yes I could go on but stepping back I realized that I had a pretty damned good time watching this fireworks show unfold. Yes old faults return such as the weird acting and the poor jokes but not like in the previous films to stop you from enjoying it. And unlike the first to the film succeeds with a better story, even giving the soldiers decent roles in the plot. Heck even the character Carly is more likable than Megan Fox (no offense)

So even though it has a less than overwhelming end, slow start, and some minor plot holes, you'll leave the theater satisfied leaving a good final impression on the franchise itself. Which I guess is a win for Transformers fans of all ages that might lead to other interpretations to keep TF relevant. Its worth the money to see it on the big screen just to witness the great battles unfold. It might not be what some (like me) Transformers fans might want as far as story/character portrayals, but it gives more than enough action to satisfy.
